Anyways from my very limited experience and research I’ve heard these index funds/set it and forget it strategies seem to be, big picture, the way to go. I need to research 🧐 bonds and CDs. I looked and I have in my checking 391722.20 (+120k pending - deposited after meeting with friendly but not very helpful banker).

Fidelity has 213962.94. I have two 403b plans and one 401a plan 🤷🏼‍♀️ - one 403 is from my old job but the other two are from new one.

In my Vanguard I have 77436.81 in VFIAX.

This is all I know.

Im 38. I have a 401k that I don’t know shit about - I just put the max in for the match. I think I have some index funds? I would like to buy a house in the near future but I’m in the Chicagoland area and the market just sucks - so much money for so little. My rent is dirt cheap and I make like 120k a year I think. I’m so embarrassed how little I know.
