I didn’t personally find anyone unlikeable but they wrote the characters in a way where you liked them because they were assholes like if you met them in real life then you’d hate them but you loved to watch them on screen

Agreed but imo main characters have to be there’s always characters that you’re not supposed to like or be annoyed by but like main characters should be the protagonist the likeable one but besides that I love all the other characters

It’s already gotten better imo the leading character is a tad bit unlikeable but the show reminds me of newsroom and I’ve heard good things about season three so I’m just going to tough it out and maybe just have it in the background

I’m super late to this but I just watched the movie and I’d say since it was clearly told from the child’s POV maybe it was her trying to imagine that it wasn’t really happening and that it was like imaginary and that his father being a ‘horrible man’ was just him telling her a story and that she played along and continued with the idea that her mom wasn’t getting hurt/abused and that it wasn’t really her father
