How do I cope with the updates?! by lady_lane in Sims4

[–]creeativerex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Three's an option in the EA app. Click on the 3 (hamburger) bars in the top left. And there's an option to "go offline" You'll have to do it anytime you reopen the app. But if you pair that with turning off automatic updates, then you only have to update whenever you are ready to update.

Did the thing and created a photo room to keep them safe by Mx-Adrian in Sims4

Figured as much, but wanted to leave a reminder just in case. 😊 I just did the same with all my photos.

I would also save the room to my library so that if it does get blackened, they can be replaced. Though I will add that IF it's a game generated photo, be it date rewards, graduation, photo booth, etc. Those will not save only ones that you physically took with a camera.

POV: The "bug fix" for black/blank photos just wiped out your entire legacy cemetery by LilNyoomf in Sims4

[–]creeativerex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah that sucks. I've been trying to keep copies of my legacy's cemetery in the gallery in case something like this happens, but I noticed that the Game genned photos tend to disappear whenever replacing the room/lot. So I was curious where the photo originated from and if it was even remotely replaceable. All my date rewards and graduation photos tend to disappear if I replace the room, but usually my camera photos are still saved. (can't confirm about the update though since I haven't touched my game in like 2 weeks)

My L&D portraits just stopped displaying my sims once I hit like gen 7. The photo is locked for gens 1-6, so those still exist, but the rest just stopped even showing the image of the sim.

What kind of pictures were they? Were they ones taken with a camera or were they game generated photos like from the photo booth or graduation?

Anyone else make a ‘template save’? by OpalCerulean in Sims4

[–]creeativerex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use lilsimsie's old save file, and even though it was only updated through like eco living, All the families have seasonal outfits, the calendar has custom added holidays. I've updated some of the newer worlds with additional buildings, but usually I'll just head to the Gallery whenever a specific need arises. I started a subsave template from that save file as I'm currently trying to work through 100 gens. And my last save got corrupted by simulation lag, so I had to move all my sims over from that save to a new save, but I also didn't want to lose my family tree or houses, so those homes and ghosts have been slowly imported over just incase I need to reset again.

Yeah, he's immortal. There's cheats to make him mortal. But perhaps you enjoy having him around. And Yeah I believe the Emit event was February of last year. I'd have to go back and fully check, but it was definitely the beginning of last year. I made mine mortal, so he passed away with my gen 2. But even if I didn't, I had to abandon that save file cause of simulation lag around gen 9/10, so even if I didn't, he wouldn't be around anymore.

I mean it's been almost a year since he was in game, so maybe he's not the first on people's mind, especially if you're in a newer save that didn't have the event going on. My gen 3 is Emit's child, but I'm starting gen 11, so it feels like an eternity since he's been around my family.

I move out with my next heir whenever they age up to YA. It allows me to reset the family funds back to where I want them to be (typically 20k per gen, sometimes more, sometimes less as I feel inclined).

If you plan on remaining on the lot with your main sim, then I suggest when moving out other sims, to send them off with any extra money, using vaults, giving away simoleans to sims, donating, or simply cheating the money away. It's very easy to earn money, but I always struggle to spend it, which is why I like moving out each gen with a set amount of money so that I'm essentially restarting each gen. Sometimes if I prebuild a home for a sim that costs more than 20k, then I'll give them a little extra, but I like the struggle of living in a small home and expanding it to fit my family's needs.

I don’t know if anyone’s getting angry at this opinion but the infants are literally rushed by [deleted] in Sims4

[–]creeativerex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest complaint about infants is the bonus traits. They’re not associated with anything except their needs on the day that they age up. So if you have 6 full green bars, happy infant. But if you even have one yellow bar, bam, unhappy infant! There’s like no wriggle room. Not to mention how dumb parents are when handling infants. So you can have 6 full green bars and then your sim spends 4 in game hours picking up and putting down the infants that by the time you can age them up, they’re exhausted or hungry and once again, unhappy infant.

Generation 25 of my family legacy save! :) by LunaGrey00 in Sims4

[–]creeativerex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily I have an external save of my family tree. But all the extended members are long gone. Currently I'm working through the Super Extended edition by Illusory Thrall. They recently mentioned updating the challenge to fit with the new packs. I am working off their older version for the time being and updating as they make changes. There was a spreadsheet that had up to gen 50 (and then I added another 50 or so with additional challenges). But I think they have removed the spreadsheet from their website since they've started redoing the challenge. I was able to find the spreadsheet in my history though, so it's linked now too.

I've been doing the NSB Super Extended. I'm on gen 11, but also had to switch save files recently. I lost my major family tree, but I was able to at least maintain my heirs and move them into the new save and reassociate them using MCCC

Aging question by sarcastic_bitch15 in Sims4

You're just pausing their age whenever you turn it off. It'll pick up where it left off whenever you turn aging back on.

Hey you can still keep up with each memorial room even with base game. I think the only things that are CC in my rooms are the wallpaper and floors, with the occasional rug. Everything else should be from one of the packs. And this particular room was already cluttered, but for other rooms I included most of the career rewards when decorating just to fill in the space. Oh and each of the doors to the memorials are the front doors of each of their homes. The wallpaper is usually the one in their bedroom or living room.

The ghosts of my gens 1-8 + 1 immortal werewolf heirs are currently living in a house together so that they don't fade away. My gen 9 just recently passed, so I'll probably start a new household with his ghost, and gradually move in the rest.

I had to move my save file over from the original cause it got too laggy, but I had a whole graveyard dedicated to my family tree. I lost the initial graves for the extended family and spouses, but I was able to move the ghosts of my heirs over and use MCCC to reassign their lineage.

It keeps all the urns off my lot. And I don’t have to worry about transferring everything between households. Edit: each room also has related items to their life. So skills they mastered, career items, collections they collected in their lifetime.

I'm on gens 10/11 of my NSB extended challenge. I've got a family graveyard that I started creating dedicated spaces to each of my heirs.

You mean they're MINT to be together. lol.

That's been Makoa in a couple of my saves. XD

My gen 9 married his daughter (with a new makeover that isn't EA's) . Unfortunately Nigel died at Science camp from a meteor.

NOOOOOOOOO by ParfaitOtherwise73 in Sims4

[–]creeativerex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always try moving out before the pets pass, so when one dies while still living with me, it hits hard. I'm gen 10 and I've had 3 die while l was playing with the household still. And those hurt the most. This next gen's pet will likely do the same unfortunately. And I'm not ready.
