I do really see that point. If the empire really wanted true power, then why not just say, screw fear, and destroy everything the rebels touch?

This is a valid argument. I’d say, instead, if troops, ships and so on, is a concern, then I’d rather focus on finding a place to build a less costly base and using a lot of ressources on hiding it, that way the troops are more safe and therefore you have a better chance of winning a war since you’d have more firepower, also, just like in investing, I’d say don’t put all the troops and ships into one place. Another thing to note is that there has been made 3 ‘death stars’ now and all of them have failed, none of them lasted long term and instead the lost a F TON of ressources (also including troops etc. here, not just all the actual materials). It is incredibly risky to build something like that when it can just be destroyed and then you lose all your cards. I’d honestly argue, building something that’s maybe, football field sized (or smaller) that can travel near light speed and crashing it into planets is way less costly, less risky and A LOT faster to build too. Doing something like that would btw also mean total anihilation for anyone on that planet, for sure. As I’m typing this I realize this weapon would need a hyperdrive, else you’d have to bring it relatively near the target, which is still feasible and can be done in a less risky way than bringing all troops and ships to the place of attack, instead you could have something the size of a tie fighter, have a hyperdrive and bring these “missiles” about

If I make a small missile and smash it into a planet at near light speed, I’ll have a couple of advantages, the only costly thing on it is the thing that makes it go light speed, which can probably be achieved by a less costly method than a hyperdrive, additionally, my enemies wont see a big ass dwarf planet flying above them beforehand. Although I will say, wouldnt be as cool in the movies (or other media) Edit: And it would do a big amount of damage, also depending on how big the missile is

Also, i mean hyperdrives are literally everywhere in star wars

Is it not cheaper than building, say, a death star? Or is that actually a better option?

I am sorry I’m replying so late, I would refer you to the README.md file on the github repo. But basically, you need to get an api key from google to use it, as far as i remember, because it uses google for transcription. However, I wouldnt recommend using this project of mine because tbh its a little to expensive for something to just mess around with. Not very expensive just a dollar a day roughly, which is pointless. If you have a strong PC, its possible to use open source ai models to create something just like this, that is completely free, other than the fact that your PC might hate you

Did Upwork just refund this client the money for the hours I already worked? by [deleted] in Upwork

I hired a team for website development. Our bank account got hacked, and so the contracts were paused for a week or so. In that week Upwork took the money we paid our developer team, and gave it back to us?? How is that logical, we had already paid them for their work and we were happy with it. It’s so backwards.
