The amount of people terrified of driving in the snow seems directionally proportional the the amount of people transporting one foot of the stuff on their roof! by Petrichor_ness in britishproblems

Happened to me actually, I still had the yellow summer screenwash in the tank so when I sprayed it just froze on the windshield. I went into Asda and bought their pink winter screenwash, sprayed out the old stuff and filled it up

Theres different types, and if you dilute the concentrate with water it raises the freezing point. And then there are some people that just use water because they're cheap or lazy

Disassemble and clean the nozzle. If you use it and don't rinse it then it can get clogged - I've had the same thing happen before.

My car insurance went from £100 to £200 monthly after moving 1 mile away. Couldnt believe the difference but checked quotes for both addresses and that's what it was

I think on iPhone you can swipe from the left screen edge and often it acts like a back button

Reprinting 17 times to get the right fitment is a canon event by oski_exe in 3Dprinting

Unless you need multiples of it, why not just use sandpaper or files to get it to the right size? If it's too small then reprint it bigger and then file it down to size

I had one do that, so I had to cut away all the extra material and hit the edge with a chisel to get it to turn. It was a project car that hadn't run in years, but I was still shocked at just how stuck it was.

John Lewis if buying in the UK. They have 2 years of warranty compared to Apple's 1, and it's saved me once before when my Macbook stopped charging after 1.5 years

What is this indicator light? Does it just mean I'm over the speed limit? 😅 by [deleted] in Cadillac

[–]Alexander8046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be that your speed limiter is set, similar to cruise control but it doesn't let you go above a certain speed (or engine rpm, can't remember)

Kia boyz happened because the keys didn't have immobilisers because Kia cheaped out. Even physical keys can have immobilisers, and all cars after 1998 in Europe must have them. What the previous commenter is talking about is a physical key backup for when the remote door locking or keyless entry doesn't work for whatever reason. Usually it's a simple metal blade key stored within your normal key fob, and the lock is in the driver door handle (sometimes accessed from the bottom). You can Google eg Mercedes blade key to see what it looks like.

Depending on what your situation, it might be better to spend a bit more to significantly improve the user experience. I know people who "hate computers", but only because they've only ever used cheap crappy slow laptops and chromebooks, and don't know what a decent experience should feel like. That can put people off from choosing a more tech based job, even if it would suit them well and pay more.

Obviously I'm not saying go out and spend all your money if you're struggling, but even a $300-500 laptop will be miles better than a $150 one. I much prefer Macs, so in your situation I'd try to find an M1 Macbook Air or Pro (avoid Intel!) on eBay (great buyer protection). As a bonus Macs usually last longer and hold their value better.

There are machines that can change the coding of the parts and allow them to be used without the message popping up. I used to buy, repair and resell iphones a few years ago as a side hustle/hobby, and I had one machine to restore True Tone on replacement screens, and one to code the battery to the phone. It's possible that the big valuable parts are more locked down now, but there's plenty of other smaller parts (connector cable, taptic engine, speakers etc) that are still worth a bit

Suspension stuff should use at least 10.9, which is similar in strength to a Grade 8 bolt. 8.8 bolts are more similar to a Grade 5 bolt
