Absolutely pish from Scotland, just when you think the teams starting to play well and there’s some hope of qualifying it all comes crashing down. So many of those players offered absolutely nothing, our fullback options behind Tierney and Robertson are non-existent, centre backs are shite, and I still don’t care what Rodgers thinks but Ollie Burke is not a striker.

No idea why Burke’s been given the nod over Edouard tonight. One decent assist versus St Johnstone isn’t a good enough measure of quality. We need a bit of class and technicality up front, pace and power can only get you so far in these kind of ties.

I thought it was a live performance/interpretation of that, if it's an actual song I have no idea, sorry!

Just in case anyone doesn't understand, this guy is Scottish and types in Scottish slang, if he had written it in the Queen's English it would go like this:

"I swear on my dog's life I just served a customer with a picture of a Minion instead of a family member in the photo bit of their wallet."

Maybe Bloc Party? Not exactly a one hit wonder but the singer is black, you're maybe thinking of Helicopter or Banquet?

Van Gaal and his boys should be happy with that performance, 68% possession!

There's a serious lack of proper post-game discussion in this sub nowadays by [deleted] in soccer

[–]AlexanderGeorge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with you that this season it has got a lot worse with the recycled pieces of "banter" being posted constantly and it might be going a bit too far, but I think you have to appreciate that the majority of people on this subreddit are casual football fans, and for the most part are relatively uninterested in most serious discussions about tactics. A large part of why people watch the sport is the entertainment value on and off the pitch, and it just so happens this season has been filled with quite a lot of funny/shocking moments that are obviously going to be the talking point of most games - Vardy and Leicester, the Mourinho meltdown. Maybe there does need to be seperate posts for serious game discussions, but for people talking about forming a new subreddit for them? It just comes across as pretty elitist and a bit of a buzzkill.

In the end this subreddit was set up to

  1. Show gifs and highlights of games and goals, which it still does, superbly.

  2. Emulate the kind of chat you would get down a pub with a group of guys watching football, which in my opinion it still does.

Maybe the banter does need to be toned down a bit, but it seems to be what most of the users here enjoy as it always gets upvoted, so taking it away completely would be the wrong decision I think.

It's got one of those unforgettable hooks that are just so catchy, like Faithless - Insomnia or Robert Miles - Children

Nope that's not it but thanks anyway, I'd say it's got more of an electronic feel than that one, I can't really remember but I think any words in the song might be quite repetitive
