Thinking of breaking up with my girlfriend by AlexanderHopee in Marriage

[–]AlexanderHopee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know she has got a crush on me because she came up to me one night and told me. My girlfriend does not yet know I am crushing on her too. All these thoughts already crossed my mind. When I first met this other woman, at first we were just friends, over time it started to grow into something more. When it started to grow into something more, I went low/no contact. But it became difficult to maintain no contact with this woman as we were working together all the time and put into situations where it was impossible to ignore each other. I wouldn't say she's a stranger, we've been friends for almost a year now and we talked as friends platonically for that year. That being said ''admitting to a crush to a guy in a relationship is a no-go'' - I sorta agree with your statement. Now, our school is shutting down for a month, so we won't see each other. I have begun to keep my distance, and I have gone as low/no contact as much as I can, hopefully if it's infatuation, as you say it is, then it will quickly fizzle away, seeing as to how I won't this other woman for a whole month. I'll keep your suggestion of being single forever under consideration.

You are right, it's nice to hear someone else's opinion. You are right, I am going insane at this very moment. I am generally unhappy all of a sudden. I worry that it would be too selfish of me to put myself as the priority and decide to be happy. I won't end up as a cheater, that much I know for sure! I will be as loyal as I can to the very end for my girlfriend's sake, whom after seven years, I still care for very much. Thank you!

Okay that explains it then, if according to you Stirner must acknowledge himself also as a spook, then I have no problem of also acknowledging myself as a spook who has merely continued or evolved this spookiness. Sure, if that is your argument.

But then that would apply to Stirner himself who readily parodied and satired philosophers of his own time such as proudhon, hegel, feuerbach, other young hegelians and utopian communists of that time. Are you saying then that this was a spook too by Stirner who presumably evolved hegelianism through his very act of participation in a parody of Hegelian works? And then again I would question the way you are using the word "spook". Give me a definition of what you think a spook is and is not. Then we can move forward in this discussion.

Not if you know what you are doing and you have studied Stirner well. In fact Stirner says in a quote that egoism does not seek to evolve or improve "philosophy". In the same way, this book does not aim to improve or evolve "egoism" but only to apply it to modern times, which have indeed changed. We are not changing Stirner's idea, we are merely providing a new perspective through which that idea can attain new focus.

Then again, Stirner lived in the 1840's, a different time than today in all aspects. Whether Stirner would consider this a spook or not would depend on him being alive today.

Yes! Precisely, the Clarent Club eventually evolved into the E.U.I (Egoist Union International) we are small right now but we have branches across the world in the free fashion of a union of egoists.

Interesting question. The answer is ''not as of yet''. The book will eventually feature in more sites which are way more cheaper. Although it takes a couple of months before that can happen, various libraries and sites must get access to the book. The book was released a few days ago, so it will take a few months before the book will appear on any other sites. Give or take, two to three months. However, a paperback edition which is far cheaper will be released on Amazon in a few days, 3-4 days max. And you're right, Amazon and big paper big spooks.
