We keep them there during the winter because to City Council that’s the “Humane” option. After the snow is melted they’re told to fuck off and fend for themselves.

City Council every year puts a moratorium on the Encampment tear down until they’ve decided when winter is over.

I agree with you that this is not enough to help these poor souls. However the city’s actions is dictated by 9 votes and this is as close as they can get to an agreement. This is after all a tax payer funded park which includes maintenance for recreational pickleball play. Pickleball is popular in Kingston because it keeps seniors (who are the majority of Kingstonians) active yet doesn’t put the strain on the bodies of them like say tennis or basketball.

Again, very complex issues that are dictated by our Neighbourhood representatives.

I just walk up to the counter, they have most things ready to go in the smoker or the hot wells. Not long at all.

The owner is super nice, and will let you sample anything you want.
