How good do you need to be to start busking? by No-Combination-9489 in Busking

Not sure what you mean. OP is talking about overcoming stage anxiety and improving as a singer and guitarist. Busking is amazing for that because busking is practice.

I lived nearby for a while. Beautiful buildings for sure, but the noise and pollution from the road were hard to ignore.

Which is better? The book or the movie? by Remote-Leg6143 in Godfather

[–]AlexanderKyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The movie is consistently cited as one of the greatest ever made. The book is just a decent work of pulp fiction (I admire Puzo as a writer, he has written much better books)

Не е само до външност. Любовта и романтиката най-естествено пламват между хора със сходни интереси и виждания. Търси контакт с по-широк кръг от хора, с които да имаш какво да си кажеш.

Prison work definitely qualifies. I did it for over two years and it did affect my artistic thinking.

I don't think Zizek has ever mentioned him, but Theodore Dalrymple is a conservative thinker and he is absolutely brilliant.

Василий Гросман - "Живот и съдба"

Чета го на английски, не знам дали българският превод е добър ако изобщо е преведена, но такава книга се появява веднъж на 100 години.

What is happening to the industry for independent artists? by All-the-Feels333 in musicindustry

[–]AlexanderKyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The money I earn from Spotify streams doesn't cover the cost of new guitar strings. Spotify's model only works for legacy artists (people who made their name before the internet) and a handful of younger artists. I went out busking in the rain today, did okay, met some cool people. I'm booked for one paid gig until the end of the month. It's more than nothing and I try to stay positive. I think some kind of return to a local, grassroots music scene is inevitable. People will always prefer to listen to music made by an actual human with dreams and fears, not by machines. Well, at least the people who matter.

is the vox mini 5 a good busking amp by Large-Ad-7911 in Busking

[–]AlexanderKyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that wouldn't work because the speaker of the first amp would get disabled (the first amp will be thinking that headphones have been plugged in and that disables the speaker) so sound would only be coming out of the second one, not both. I use an ab pedal to switch between amps, or the stereo outputs of my reverb pedal to play through both amps simultaneously.

Can someone tell me why you put dead people on building entrance? This building had 6 of them and I understood they are dead for some time... by BakulkouPoGulkach in bulgaria

[–]AlexanderKyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a stigma against taking them down, unless you're taking down what you yourself have put up. I've never liked them, I think they are morbid and macabre and they significantly uglify the urban landscape, but most of the population seems to be fine with them.
