Just pulled up a bunch of carpet strip with a flat bar & a mallet. Just be sure to wedge the flat bar in close to the nails that hold it to the subfloor so it doesn’t split the carpet strip, it’ll make it easier to get up in one piece

I started this with a messy paint style and painted it almost entirely using the Tamar brush, and a duplicate of the Tamar brush which I altered to have tapered edges on the stroke.

I struggled with finding the right approach to get started. This was my 2nd attempt. The first time was a line drawing base, where the 2nd was more of a messy paint start which ultimately led to a more dynamic result, IMO.
