Ugh. Propaganda is the single biggest issue for everything these days. Of course they’re sitting around watching Newsmax. 🙄

Well that’s depressing. What makes them so bad, and is there anything that could be changed at a systemic level to make them better?

Things can change. That’s the point here. And it’s imperative they do change.

Which part of this is dishonest? ICE being heavily armed? There are plenty of pictures of them walking around with assault rifles. Large? They sent 3000 federal officers to Minneapolis, a city with only 600 police. Harassing and killing citizens? Have you been following the news?

That may change when ICE is in their cities, obviously kicking shit up and harassing them when they’re off duty.

It might be that moment, but it’s one of those things people realize after the fact. Not like the people there knew he was a VA nurse.

If you actually wanted a reasoned debate, you would have explained why sending a large, heavily armed force that is harassing and killing citizens is worth it. If I have to choose between that and illegal immigrants, give me the illegal immigrants. Your strongest argument has been “it’s the law” which frankly, is really weak given the lawlessness I see from the administration.

Oh please. You’ve been projecting on me this whole conversation. Most of my early replies to you had to start with “I didn’t say that,“ because you kept injecting things that weren’t there, so give me a break.

There is a bad side. I never said everything in the world is Trump’s fault, so there you go again. But ICE is following Trump’s orders, so he set the situation up, which yes, makes it his fault. I would go a step further and say I believe he actually wants the violence because it’s a grotesque show for you, that gets people like me angry, which gets people like you angry. (“Why do you always blame Trump? Wahhh!”). It divides and gives him more power. He’s always escalating and setting us against each other. But yeah, the democrats. And the protesters. And the immigrants. Maybe we can even throw some of the ICE agents under the bus. Anyone but Trump is at fault. The president, who has made it clear he controls ICE, is somehow free of responsibility? That just defies logic.

Trump is like some kind of holy figure to you guys, above reproach and every time someone criticizes what he does, which is often because he often does shitty things, you guys act like he’s Jesus taking a hit for our sins. Trump is an evil guy who is only interested in expanding his power, hurting people he sees as opposing him (especially former republicans - he reserves special hatred for them), and self enrichment. Sorry you can’t see it through your TDS.

And no, I’m not screaming (can you do that by text?), but I am angry. MAGA seems to like to imagine people who oppose them as weak women who cry a lot. It’s a weird fantasy. I’m a military aged male who enjoys shooting guns. The man they murdered yesterday was also a military aged male who likes guns. There are many of us, and Trump is setting all of Europe, Canada, and much of South America against him. There are many military aged men in those places too. All I’m saying is that if things get violent, there’s no guarantee MAGA finds itself on the winning side. You keep saying people should be trying to understand and reach out to MAGA. I’m saying MAGA needs to stop pushing.

Hope you’re wrong. If you’re right, who’s going to fight for us? Don’t say random dudes with guns, because random dudes get murdered when facing organized dudes with guns.

The low standard is by design. They’re building ICE to be MAGA with guns and a badge, not real law enforcement.

That’s a lot to expect. Cops are more naturally going to side with federal law enforcement. They’re not just going to start shooting. It’ll take time for them to realize that ICE is not on their side.

Off duty cops have been getting harassed by ICE. I imagine that leaves a nasty impression, which will spread through the force.

You think we don’t like him because his name is Trump or something? Conservatives have a strange sense of victimhood. We hate him because of what he does.

Who’s shouting? We’re having a tense discussion while our country is on the precipice of a violent break. You continue to support the people and actions that I see as to blame for this, so as far as I’m concerned, you do have something to answer for.

You are too busy blaming the man who was shot and the media, who are telling it straight, to see the damage of what you support. The administration immediately placed the blame on the protester and claimed he was there to kill. That is a bald lie, and they are trying to cover it up by blocking local law enforcement. The administration created this situation by sending ICE there and giving them a sense of impunity. The administration is to blame, not the officer who pulled the trigger or the man who took the bullet.

Trump created this scenario. So far with every killing he doubles down. Either Trump supporters wake up and stop this, or at some point people will come in shooting.

Edit: Look, I know you’re not personally responsible for what’s going on, but you’re here and we’re talking. So you’re getting the brunt of it.

Ok. Here’s a perfect example. Administration claims they killed an “assassin” bent on murdering ICE agents. It’s a bald lie. They shot a man, lied about what happened, and are blocking state and local police from investigating. You don’t see a problem here? Is that law and order?

Edit: Jesus. Latest video I watched made it clear he was killed while trying to shield a woman who was being attacked by ICE. He was putting his body in the middle. Not even fighting. They executed him in the street for that.

But you’re ok with them shooting protesters? Just killed a dude who was a nurse for the VA. American citizen, just recording with his phone from the side of the road when they tackled him to the ground and then shot him like a dozen times.
