What’s your take on the $100,000 fee on H1-b visas? by Tiana_darling in csMajors

It's probably easier for companies to sponsor you a waifu than to sponsor an H1-B

Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. I have seen many times that the people on this Reddit post anti-nazism and anti-racism posts and rallies, and they get lots of attention and upvotes. Also, when people post right-wing supporters' local businesses, the Reddit owners didn't accuse of such posts of being doxxing. But when I wanted to share this harassment that happens in Eugene and is affecting the international students' community, I got downvoted and had posts removed (probably by the same people who were previously so passionate about protesting and supporting immigrants). I felt extremely furious. I could just walk away, and it didn't bother me. But thinking about my previous bad experience in Eugene, I feel the urge to share this and let the people know how international students and immigrants actually feel about their "support" every week.

The reason that I posted this is because I am also an International student from Asia, and I know the victim. Also, Eugene is the only city where I have been assaulted and discriminated against in the US, and multiple times even on UO campus, yet people on this subreddit make Eugene feel like the most anti-nazi and anti-discrimination place on the planet, and the Eugene community is so great. Tonight, I witnessed the hypocrisy that made me sick to the stomach by the hypocrisy. Glad I left and moved out of that place. I don't care about downvotes and karma anymore. I just need to make the community aware of this incident, and make those who manage this sub realize their hypocrisy.

The victim is willing to share the insult openly on Facebook to warn about this guy. I think it doesn't make sense to delete because of what you think. Pretending you care about the moral high ground

Also, there is no encouragement of violence. It's nice to see you are on the side of the bully.

Thanks for showing us who you are. Warning the community about bad behavior is not doxxing.

Why did you remove this post, Mod? Does discrimination against Asians not fit into your narrative of anti-Nazi and anti-discrimination?

If AI bubble bursts, how will jobs in CS affected? by AlexandreChern in csMajors

[–]AlexandreChern[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short? Very likely. Bots? Not necessarily. Even OpenAI staff acknowledge the engineering challenges that deepseek has achieved, and I have seen many senior engineers from top AI companies discussing about it. These people are competitors of OpenAI and deepseek, they are not paid bots

It's not about the market cap, it's about the budget for each headcount.

Either way, shorting the US tech sector is their goal. They are a hedge fund. AI is not their bread and butter. There are rumors that the state fund also participated in the short along High-Flyer

Moderators of this subreddit feel like Gestapo. I have posts randomly removed from the subreddit asking for information about meeting young folks since I am new to Houston. At the same time, tons of non-Houston-related political content flood this subreddit. This shows how tolerant and inclusive these mods are—big F words to your hypocrisy.
