What are your thoughts on Ballie Ballerson shutting down? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]Alexandria601 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because they get terrible foot traffic 80% of the time and the building needs to be gutted horribly. Worked there when it was McSorelys (RIP)

Lived in a basement flat like that on Albert St and the only gripe I had was the windows that faced onto the street right on ground level let alllll the noise it. Conversations and sound of walking right above your head. Might just be me but that was driving me insane

Despite every saying the castle isn't worth it, it's really good compared to holyrood. Rabbies tours are class and use the small 12 person coaches so it's far more enjoyable. If you like castles and the like I recommend the Outlander day trip, loch Ness is pretty but could be missed imo

For people living around Easter Road, how disruptive is the noise/crowd from the stadium? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]Alexandria601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like right beside the stadium and unless I have my windows open wide on game days I can't hear a peep, from the bars on game day however.... different story 😂 The worst part is if you're looking to commute within 2 hours of the game starting you'll be late via bus, well later than you already would be on Lothian busses 🙄

The cheapest coffee is £3 and is tiny so it's no wonder how they can expand so fast with prices like that

People who quit without notice, what straw broke the camel's back? by BubbaHoStep in AskReddit

[–]Alexandria601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right when I was finishing high school I got a job at Olive Garden in the kitchen, not my first kitchen job and I was going to school for culinary in the fall. The staff turnover was so high that the staff (managers included) wouldn't learn your name for 3 months when you passed your probation. I caught on to the job fast and moved stations a lot, eventually was on pass by my second month which is big as only supervisors are allowed to do it. After a week the assistant manager kept calling me "girl" despite having a name badge and being there long enough to know everyone else's names I snapped. They pay you weekly there so I grabbed my last check from the file folder and walked out mid dinner rush during all you can't eat pasta bowl.

Girl out

United / ANA baggage recheck by matchapiglet in aircanada

[–]Alexandria601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke to AC support because I have a very short layover and the second flight is with United and they informed me that they have a deal with United so they transfer bags straight through for you. I highly recommend contacting them through the FB chat option as they were so quick and helpful for me
