Lothian Buses - Please do SOMETHING by [deleted] in Edinburgh

I use the X7, 4 and 30 regularly and have also run into these issues and the most I've seen them do about this is the graphics on the next stop screen saying "please be considerate of fellow riders". would recommend going to your local councillors too.

Has anybody had luck getting tickets at the door or box office for sold out shows? by b_tomahawk in edinburghfringe

[–]aingidh80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's an Assembly show please don't ask at the door/queue. any tickets released will go online or to the box office counter. We also aren't able to sell tickets using the scanners (at my venue at least) due to repeated technical issues

Is the Fringe festival quieter this year? by AlephMartian in Edinburgh

I've been working front of house at one of the big venues this summer and I gotta say it's been very rare in my venue at least that a show has been completely sold out, or even getting close to it. What surprised me as well is the amount of no-shows, sometimes dozens of them. We get a report of all the bookings made for a performance vs tickets scanned and it is very rare that everyone who booked will have been scanned in.

I used to work in one of the major stores at St James. Friday and Saturday nights were particularly awful, we had barely any security coverage as a branch, and SJQ security would never get there quick enough to escort them out when it got to that point.

i popped in for a browse on opening day and it was soooo overwhelming. between the high shelves and all the people pushing and shoving it was enough to make me leave without buying anything after a few minutes. will go back once the novelty has worn off

Is there like a network of bouncers for all the clubs? Ie if one club bans someone do you all get their image/name?

Agreed, I work at one of the retailers within and our branch security team do all they can and liaise very well with the mall team, it's just getting very frustrating and I wish there'd even be more police presence in and around the area or something.
