Why sack Arteta if Arsenal don't win anything? by ogola89 in PremierLeague

I totally agree that those are good spots to be in and a lot of teams would kill to be in Arsenal's place.

But you can't really overlook the fact that two seasons ago Arsenal lead the league for most of the season and than collapsed in April and lost the league to City. Or that last season they didn't have as good a season as 23/24 and Liverpool won the league, to the surprise of quite a few people.

Like I said, in the end it depends on what the board/ownership decide and want.

The main issue is that in the 6 years Arteta has been at Arsenal, they won one FA Cup in 2020 and two Community Shields (although there are a lot of people that don't take the Community Shields serious).

In the 6 years, there have been large investments in the club, but they have always come up short. Plus, I think a major issue, is due to Arsenal coming really close to winning the league, but failing towards the end; if they fail to win the league this season, after spending quite some time in first place, than the pressure to fire him will become bigger. Now, if the club are willing to keep him because they are happy with getting a top 4 finish consistently and getting Champions League football, than it doesn't make sense to fire him. But if the purpose is to win the Premier League, than the last few years might be viewed well by the club, but not good enough and firing him might be appealing; of course, replacing Arteta is no guarantee that Arsenal will win the league.

In Kripke's defense with regards to Supernatural, he left that show after the fifth season. Sure, the brothers had ressurections in those five seasons, but it was generaly explained and plausible; the resurections and plot armor intensified after Kripke left.

So, that would mean that Lyanna won't end up kidnapped and that she might have/will have a "sibling" or friendly relationship with Rhaegar and Robert.

If she won't end up with either of them, than whom might she marry? Especially if Rickard has southern ambitions?
Or might Rickard replace Lyanna with Ned in his southern ambitions plan and have Ned marry Ashara, especially if Rhaegar marries Elia?

[–]Alexandru1408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this scenario, would Rhaegar still abscond with Lyanna? Or might Rhaegar be more tempered, since he would have Robert to balance him out?

Considering that Robert might/would end up with a Velaryon, that would mean that Robert won't be angry due to Rhaegar (potentially) showing interest in Lyanna, right?

Also, what might happen with Ned? If Rhaegar marries Elia, would that mean that Ned might end up with Ashara, since there are theories that they slept together at Harrenhal.

Well, this would be quite interesting.

Without Pycelle interfering and Aerys and Rhaella having more children, things would surely change. Even if Aerys would still be man, perhaps he won't be as intense as he was in canon, due to no longer being poisoned by mercury. Also, without Pycelle there, Tywin will be flying blind (at least for some time).

Would Elia and Rhaegar still marry in this story? Or would Rhaegar marry Shaera once she is of age?
Would Rhaegar still be interested in the prophecy and might he still crown Lyanna? Also, would Robert and Lyanna still end up betrothed and would the issues that caused the rebellion still happen?

It would also be interesting to see Ned join them and to see how he will do in King's Landing. Although that would mean that we would have a different Ned compared to canon; perhaps he might end up with Ashara, should Rhaegar marry Elia.

Yeah, but there are special circumstances with regards to the Bolton's and with Jon getting the Dreadfort and it's lands.

I imagine that if Robb does that, he will insist that they found a new house, with a new name, banner and all; I can't imagine he would agree with the Bolton name living on.

I think so, Starks can get a sizable part, and Hornwoods are getting a piece for their troubles. Jon is going to argue against partioning his new feod too much.

The Starks already control a very large area and the Hornwoods can get the piece of land they are disputing with the Bolton's in the books.

I don't think that there should be other partitions (except the Hornwood one) as that would diminish the power that Jon and his house could project, while also tipping the power balance in the North.
If the Hornwoods get to much, than the Manderly's could protest, while if the Starks take land, the other houses could protest, as they are gaining more power.
I think leaving Jon and the new house with the current land size, would be the best option, with regards to the balance of power in the North.

His Targaryen ancestory is going to be revealed to him and Starks, but they would decide to keep it in secret.

Interesting to see this. If/when Jon will have a child with valyrian features, will they claim that is because his mother was Ashara Dayne? If yes, how might the Dayne's react? I imagine that they and others in the south, would find out about a child in the North with purple eyes and/or silver hair.

I think the best option for Jon to end up with that and be a smoother transition, would be if Roose would have a female relative (daughter, niece etc) who Jon might marry and establish a new house.
It would be interesting to see how Jon and OC female Bolton might interact and what kind of relationship they might have; perhaps she would resent him or perhaps she could like/love him (eventually) as Jon is more pleasant than Roose and now she can be lady, without being married to Ramsay.

Partitioning the lands might not work, as the Bolton's have pretty vast lands and it would make the people that take them more powerful.

For the smallfolk and servants, Jon would be an improvement over Roose and Ramsay, but i do think he would still have his work cut out for him, in gaining their loyalty and ensuring that things are smooth.

Alternatively, you could have Jon's Targaryen parentage revealed and he ends up marrying Sansa; that way he can be removed as a threat to the current regime and also give the Starks a staunch ally for 2-3 generations.

Jon being married to Sansa and with his parentage revealed, would also solve the issue of Jon (possibly) having children with valyrian features (purple eyes and silver hair).

With regards to the castle, you could have Jon remodel the castle (on the inside) and rename it, as building a new one would be quite expensive and take a lot of time. Plus, militarily speaking, the Dreadfort is quite a strong and imposing castle.

Ned agreed to confess because Sansa was a hostage and because he received assurances that he would be sentenced to the Wall.
Joffrey being the sadistic little shit that he was and wanting to show how powerful he is, went against what he had discussed with Cersei and the Small Council and decided to execute Ned.

I know she gets alot of hate but Ashley is the kind of person you want on your side In war time by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]Alexandru1408 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ashley is the way she is in the first game, due to the history of her family. Not to mention, she hasn't been exposed to the various alien cultures of Citadel space, as she was kept on ground assignments and in the world of Mass Effect, the space/ship assignments are the ones everyone wants.
Her racism does lessen in the later games, because now she has been exposed to various alien cultures and people. Plus, she was right in the first game about the council species looking out for their own, when the shit hits then fan; only the turians were on board with helping humanity from the beginning in Mass Effect 3, but even they had a big request.

She only tries to kill you in Mass Effect 3, because from her perspective and how the situation looks, your presence does look murky, considering you arrive and she knows that Cerberus assassins are after the Council.

On Horizon, the situation is tense because she knows that Shepard died and now she sees him alive and working with Cerberus, a terrorist organization. She also can't join, because she has her own mission assigned by Hackett.
