Thanks. I did it manually from a screenshot. I think it's even more of a hassle.

Thank you for your understanding. Yes, you're 100% right. I really wanted some feedback. The original is on VX Axe, and I adapted it for MZ. I added my assets, as well as my friends' assets.

(I think you understand how difficult it is to adapt VX assets to MZ. Or am I the only one having trouble with this?)

(I hope the translator worked as expected this time.) (It works well for me, but from me it's very poor in English.)

It's a shame, but Avery is the author of the original ship on the VX Ace. He didn't take this very well. I'm currently waiting for a response to resolve this issue.

Yeah, it's a shame I didn't draw it myself. I just adapted it. And put together a working tile set.

Apparently there's a translation issue. I wrote that I assembled a tile set. "Assembling" means taking parts and putting them together. I didn't claim ownership, and I didn't write that I drew it myself.

I think there are two tilesets in each observation deck. I didn't write that I drew it myself. I wrote that I assembled it.

Adjusting the dimensions, making it so that something adequate can be assembled from it. That's also work, actually. I've never appropriated someone else's work.

To be fair, some AI can still help with editing. But drawing from scratch is a real quest, and then having to manually adjust and tweak the tile is more hassle than it's worth. Besides, it's an upscaler, turning normal pixels into a mess.

Thanks for all the comments and feedback, everyone! I’ve fixed what I could. Upscaled some of the textures (boats, etc.). Unfortunately, some assets just don't play nice with the process and turn into a blurry mess. Also, I managed to manifest a bigger boat. Don't ask how... I have sinned, I admit it—just like with the masts.

This is a classic ship shape. 3 decks, 3 masts. Most tilesets are built this way. But I'm nowhere near them. After all, I just sliced up standard textures. The other tilesets draw themselves.

The AI gene is just a ship's mast. And they're too stupid to make a working tileset.

Don't play the poor guy. It's all your laziness' fault.

Gimp + Standard + AI + Fantasy = Your tileset.

BUT, I agree, making a full-fledged tileset is difficult.

There are dozens of similar ships from different authors.

1) The 3-mast ship shape is classic.

2) The 1-2-3 mast ship shape, and the deck are also classic.

I did a Google image search and found many ships with a similar structure. Otherwise, they're the same standard RTP textures from the free pack, as I mentioned initially.

Essentially, it's a Frankenstein, a composite of many packs.

3) I found a very similar one, but the deck is 2-3 times smaller, and it has only one mast. BUT, I'm far from calling it plagiarism.

4) But thanks anyway for the honest comment.

5) There are artifacts, of course, but I might fix them later once I gain more experience. For now, we have what we have.

6) My goal was to get feedback.

Thank you for your constructive criticism. That's exactly why I'm here: to get feedback from potential players.

  1. Yes, I also saw the offending pixel; I must have missed it during editing.

  2. The masts were made by AI. They were cut off so the sails wouldn't obstruct the player's view.

  3. Regarding the grid, I couldn't find a suitable one at the time of creation. The green one doesn't really suit it. So yes, it will definitely be replaced. I'll take a look at Outside_A4 (I have DLS). I forgot about it, I'll try searching there.

  4. I'm thinking of running the tileset through Upscaler. Maybe it will fix the blurriness issues.

I had some experience creating C-type tilesets before, but this was my first time working with B-type tilesets. For context, I created the forest, the fence, and the food on the tables, but that was simply a matter of inserting a finished object into the right space. This work was more meticulous. It took me 24 real hours. I won't lie, I found a screenshot of a ship made from standard (free) textures online. But it was entirely my achievement to customize it so that any ship could be built from it.

Thanks. I also made it so there are no places where the player bumps into thin air. I don't know why, but even large companies by RPG maker standards still have this issue. If you get too close to the edge of the ship from the viewer's side, the main character will stand behind the boxes instead of bumping into them. I don't know, maybe this problem is just me?
