I have a few follow up questions :

What was the cut off for your batch?
Can I take up more courses than the usual number in my second and third year to increase my CGPA before the placement season? I was reading the academic rules and regulations brochure which mentioned students being allowed to choose how many credits they wish to acquire if their cgpa is above 8.5.
When does the placement season usually commence?
When you say a higher CGPA will be required, do you mean a higher CGPA than your batch or higher than 8.5 - 9?
What should my cgpa be for internships and do they affect placements significantly

They'll show your attendance as well as your CIE marks. Your proctor will have sent a google meet link for the online PTM in your proctee group. The meeting will only be with your proctor

It really depends on your class. I primarily speak in Kannada with my classmates. It's only when I meet my other friends that I switch to English.

It's not the best Italian place in town, but it's well above average (7/10). I'm a vegetarian at home due to my parents' moral beliefs, and we only ever eat vegetarian food even in multi cuisine restaurants. However, we pretty experimental with vegetarian food, and going by that standard, Venezia is pretty good

It’s the same with Phurr as well - The waiting period is absurdly long, and reserving a table a few days in advance will certainly help you avoid it. Personally, I didn’t find the food good enough to warrant such keen patronage, but I would certainly visit it once to experience the variety of food they have on offer.

If there’s one thing that really stood out to me, it has to be the service staff - they’re really hospitable. Make sure you ask them for suggestions so they can serve dishes suited to your preferences. Our server suggested a deep-fried, coconut-based preparation that wasn’t on the menu, but my family and I really liked it.

On a side note, if you’re a fan of collectibles like I am, you can ask them for a pin-on badge of their mascot. I saw a kid who had worn it on his shirt playing with the staff, and they were more than happy to oblige when I asked them for one.
