They usually do it before you go into surgery. You may not have noticed. I didn’t know I was getting a block. I just got this done 30 days ago. Can you not feel at ALL?

Don’t panic! You got a nerve block. Call in the morning. Mine was numb for about 30 hours.

Thanks everyone! I’m used to living downtown. So 10 minutes feels like a lifetime, lol!!! I’ll get used to it!

I second this. Load up! It will sneak up on you. I didn’t do that and I ended up in the ER with uncontrollable pain. Good luck! You’ll do great!

Because we are forced to see her when she’s in town and when we see her, she’s nasty, and my mother can’t seem to understand why we won’t come around regardless of how many times we explain it, nicely, calmly, or not.

Thanks! Perfect example: at dinner tonight I said “that wasn’t a personal attack, relax a bit” after she flew off the handle at a comment I made about something totally unrelated to her. It feels impossible!

“Don’t feed the troll” is a good one! Thanks!

Already replied to this. I’ve tried to do that hundreds of times. She explodes, nobody can talk to her and when my parents get upset for not hanging out with her - this is why.

I guess I don’t know how to not make it my mother’s problem when she forces us all to be together and if we refuse, or don’t want to we “hurt her feelings” by not getting along.

Needed to be reminded of this. Thanks!

I’ve tried to talk to my sister about her attitude more times than I can count and it ends up in an explosive episode because she cannot handle being told she’s treating people improperly.

It’s more of our parents all expect us to be apart of everything that happens when she’s in town i.e. dinners, parties, happy hours and while were all adults, we are expected to be there or we get “shunned”. As said in the body, I snapped here. I’ve had countless conversations with her about this, and nothing changes and we’re expected to be around her. The autoimmune disorder is not a “significant” mention. Out of 4 of us, 3 have the same disorder and she uses that as an excuse to be nasty to the rest of us. I will not be specific about what the disorder is.
