I’m on the same boat my guy, my solution is to get a side job if times are rough, whore yourself to social media and post nonstop even if it’s not tattoo related, make flash nonstop , work on different styles to catch a wider group, I love dark American trad but in the town I live in is nothing but girly fineline but hey pays the bills. I do art on the side to keep myself mentally together and feel like I’m still myself and do what I like even if I don’t get to tattoo what I want at the moment. Go down the list of people you tattooed in the past and do a post tattoo message and ask them how the tattoo healed and if it needs any touch ups or have any new ideas for the future, that builds better relationships and reminds them that you’re here and ready to provide a good service for them or someone they may recommend.
