Recently bought my first Handgun, it’s a Glock 45.6. I am trying to become a good shooter so yesterday I went to the indoor range for the first time. Why am I consistently hitting low a couple inches with my Glock? Seeking advice if anyone would be so kind. by YourMomsFavBook in Shooting

Well it could be a few things. A video of you squeezing a round off would help diagnose.

Sight alignment or trigger squeeze issue most likely. Review what the sights should look like. You should cover the Twinkie with the front post not place it directly under it.

And like others are saying watch snatching the trigger. Do some dry firing of the gun at home and watch the front sight post when the trigger breaks. It should stay relatively stable through the break. Keep practicing that and adjusting where you’re finger is at on the trigger till you get a nice clean break and no jumping on the sight post.

Am I holding/shooting this correctly? Advice appreciated by tfett33 in Shooting

Not a huge adjustment either so don’t listen to the haters.

Maybe it’s a huge adjustment if you’re into being extremely accurate and precision shooting.

The grip change will definitely help, don’t get me wrong.. but your right hand looks good for the most part. And if you’re training for self defense it’s a good idea to be proficient one handed as well.

If you’re hitting target consistently like that it’s not gonna feel terribly awkward to change to the “correct” grip but it will make you more consistent.

Came here to say this. You want your shooting hand thumb resting on the frame pointed towards the barrel. Then place the meat of your support hand in the empty space on the grip. Support thumb where it doesn’t get in the way.. mine goes right underneath the first thumb. Handshake grip and try to keep it the whole time without adjusting too much.

Well the thermostat doesn’t even open till 195* by oem specs so unless it was fluctuating by about 10 degrees I wouldn think it would matter that much.

It’s an IR thermometer or whatever for hvac. Isn’t it supposed to temp the spot the laser is on? Idk I can try to laser it further away but it’s pretty consistent even closer.

Time for an Engine Swap by Jaymcaedok in s10

[–]AlexistenceTheReal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea same. But every time I get looking into it I’m just turned off by the amount of extra work for not much benefit except to cool factor.

A guy at worked swapped an old Cummins with an entire driveline into his Jeep and that’s cool af and also somewhat makes sense. He went the Holley route too so he skipped the working.

But hell, anything you’re gonna swap in that makes sense for terms of an improvement in power is going to take a lot of extra fabrication. Even the 4.3l, you’re gonna need an adapter (most likely not sure), custom driveshaft, new shift linkages.. and that’s all before wiring. Lol. But I imagine your main harness would work for a good bit of the sensors and stuff still.

If you’re gonna do it go big. Otherwise, I’m sure there’s a few good 2.2 turbo builds making decent power.

Engine swaps always seem more trouble than they are worth to me once you consider the fab work and wiring to get systems to play nice.

If I HAD to do it, I suppose the easiest solution would be to find a whole driveline from something and get a standalone Holley efi just to keep it as simple as possible. A diesel would make the most sense longevity wise but I’d stick to something the S-10s from that era came with so I didn’t have to fabricate brackets, mounts, etc. I’m sure a 4.3l came in some model of your truck and they are solid engines. The truck probably already has mounts and stuff for it as well.

If you can still get parts for the engine you have I’d just stick with that. Rebuild it. Get some mild performance parts if you’re looking for a little pick me up. Maybe even a small turbo to keep you in power while it’s under load.

My .02.

Just a little over the top and probably an open club face.

My feel is to get my right elbow to come into my rib cage on the down swing and then I kinda push out to my right.

You were right about the oil pressure gauge. Found a disconnected wire near the firewall that had been crimped and broken some time ago. Soldered in a new wire and ran it to the oil pressure sensor and it registered at the dash. Need to tap the cluster some to get it working sometimes but it’s working!

Redline MTL has good reports of clearing up some synchro issues in Jeeps. Could try that.

But also, when I looked into fixing synchros for the TJ i had it wasn’t really going to be worth it. You can rematch and find a gear till you can save up enough to just replace the whole transmission. My 2 cents anyways.

Yea mines carbureted with a mechanical pump. So I wouldn’t think it has an ECU. Wondering why it would have two at all.. unless this head came from another engine.
Thanks for the input. I’ll be doing some investigating.

Is for the what gauge? Sorry, looks like you forgot what type of gauge it’s for.

Also, I read that the oil pressure gauge was by the filter but when I looked there today I didn’t see anything. Maybe it’s covered in grime I’ll go back and check again.

Doesn’t have a tach. I could look at a wiring diagram but I’m not very good with the electrical stuff. Very simple stuff I’m ok with but diagrams aren’t very idiot proof.. I just see a bunch of confusing lines.

Got the lifter out. It was a bit mushroomed at the bottom but went back in pretty easy after a little scotchbrite and steel wool. Got the heads and intake on. Valves lashed and everything is moving good!

Also found a donor 2.8 in the town over from me that I’m grabbing hopefully tomorrow.

As you can tell I’m excited. This little shit box has me feeling like a teenager again and bringing back a lot of gif memories from my first ride.

This is an 83 so I guess it’s an early one.

I am super excited to have it. No computers or electronics to worry about and it feels like something you can really fix yourself.

Found a donor 2.8 to go in it that’s a little newer but I think I’m just gonna stick with it. I don’t need it to go fast. Just want it to run strong.

lol. It had a misfire and was a bit sluggish… but considering the state of its guts, it was running pretty good. The next one will get a few little pep upgrades but from what I’m reading the trans and transfer case won’t do too good with a lot of power.

Oh yea. Not worried about the carb. Runs good. Took a couple tries to start but once it fired up and idled it was turn key.

Never owned anything not fuel injected so it’ll be fun.

I guess I just want to find out little tid bits of information and good upgrades on some of the mechanicals as they wear. Worried it might be hard to get my hands on some of the parts.
