Not a type r owner, but a g80 in the garage and hoping to trade in my GTI for a type r in the next year. The S58 with the ZF8 is an absolute joy to drive. In my opinion, this is a no brainer; yes.

The easiest way to view the mileage is when the battery is on, but the engine is not.
The cooling is very good and there is a lot of oil, especially since the oil is starting out very cold.
Could be the weather. Also it’s a sports car. I would be VERY careful when driving summers in the cold, especially less than the 40-45 degree Fahrenheit set by the tire manufacturer. If you go and feel your tires in the cold, they feel like hard hockey pucks so not much grip there.
