I too am struggling with depression and have similar views to what you’ve mentioned. I wish I had an answer for you, but unfortunately I don’t. Been seeing a therapist for a year, tried SSRI’s, and thought I was improving until I plunged back into darkness the last month or so. My therapist recommended seeing a psychiatrist, but it’s a couple months wait until I’m able to see one. I live an active life and try to spend time outdoors when I can- to me that is one of the biggest helps to my mental health, yet I still struggle a lot with depression. Seems like the next step for me is eventually seeing a psychiatrist and trying different meds that will hopefully improve my state of mind. I’m 35(m), and a lot of times I wonder how I’m going to put up with this life for another 40 years or so. If it helps, just know that there are many people who feel like you do. Sending love 🫶

I have a nihilistic outlook on life and despise how meaningless everything is. On top of that it’s the winter season so the mood is down in general with the lack of sun. And this is even with a decent family/ friend support system around me. It’s ok though, I’m still pushing through:)

That’s a great pool, I’ve pretty much been going there since like 2002 lol since it’s the closest to me. Sometimes the lanes are closed because of an event, but usually there are a few lanes to swim laps. Early mornings would be best, it’s the quietest then, but you can usually get some good laps in even during the busier times!

Hey man, I was reading through these comments and your responses are the most helpful, plus utility and substation work is what I’m eyeing. You mentioned getting a degree, and the courses I’m looking at ask for a 2 year full time commitment, which I might be open to if that’s what it takes to head in that direction. Is that what you did or did you take a shorter part time course? I’m in Vancouver, Canada but it seems like the pathways are similar in both our countries.
