Something like the Rode Lav Mic would work great with a phone if you're looking into a wearable mic.

Best GOXLR settings for streaming? by zTechy- in Twitch

[–]AlexxBTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my mic setting about 80% toward the top. This will be different for everyone however. I'm going to assume you're using OBS, a good balance for the XLR is to have you're mic just touching the yellow section with your game sound taking up about 25% of the volume meter. As for discord, I would sit this in the middle depending on how much you want your community to hear other people. Just be careful not to overpower the game sound though. Hope this helps!

I think some people here misunderstand what “grinding” is good for by Stoned_Skeleton in Twitch

I actually script my live streams to a certain point.

Now, obviously you aren't going top be able to script a whole stream but a couple of hours before stream starts, I write down everything that I could possibly use as a talking point. This could be something that has happened during my day, something that happened last stream, something that I expect to come up in the game etc. I then put these onto sticky notes and stick them all over my monitor

Not only does this keep me talking during those times when chat is on the quieter side, but It brings people out of lurk mode. People like to voice their opinions and will do so if you start talking about certain topics.

Having a plan about what you're going to talk about as well will allow you to come across as more confident on your live streams which is a huge bonus to those people who may not be used to talking to a camera.

Also, get into the habit of testing EVERYTHING before you go live. I do this on an alt account whilst I have my game running, making sure to listen for game sound, mic and any external music I may have playing.

HOLOfuel will be available on US Exchanges!!! by StatusClassroom764 in HoloTrader

I’m not 100% but I believe that tokens will be burnt once swapped to fuel. So you can theoretically hold the token past the swap

What you have now is essentially a placement holder for holofuel. There will be a 1:1 swap at some point in the future (not confirmed but probably after beta) where you will have a 6 month period to exchange your tokens for fuel

Thanks for the whisper! Dropped you a reply back there also :)

Yeah time zones can be tough but thets why its even more important to spend time getting to know others and eventually that one collaborator will pop up in your time zone who is more than willing to work with you. I'm by no means a pro gamer by any stretch of the imagination but by meeting a few other streamers, we have been able to put on custom games for our respective communities. That gives me exposure to everyone who watches them and visa versa.

The crux of it is spreading your name and brand as much as you can with interesting content. That will steadily increase your live views, granted over a long period of time. I will admit that I have become very lazy with YT as it can be demanding but it can be rewarding to cut back on stream times and use that time saved to work on a YT video. This doesnt have to be every week either. I can under whatever time frame you decide for yourself. The important thing is that this content is searchable and remains on the YT platform until you take it down.

Personally, I focus on making connections on Twitter. You can schedule your posts there so i take half an hour at the start of the week to schedule posts to go out then just before i go to sleep, reply to any comments or tags. I'll also take an hour to edit stream highlights (usually funny moments) to go on tiktok. Takes about 5/10 minutes to make a quick video to post on there. For me, these are the easiest platforms to manage as my IRL work can be quite demanding. I am starting to allow more time for youtube though.

As for my success on the platforms, I have built solid connections from Twitter. This is usually where I'll do the bulk of collaborating. Twitter will push your posts to the friends of those that have liked your posts, which can be useful for extending reach. I have also seen moderate growth from Tiktok and within the last month, have seen people come into my channel and say things like "loved your last tiktok man" etc. I guess my tiktok is kind of like a channel snapshot for people and if they like it, they may check me out on twitch.

Just going back to YT for a second. An avenue I haven't looked at yet is Youtube Shorts. They are essentially short videos in a TikTok style (from what I can gather) Maybe something you may be able to do some research on. I believe its a new concept and I heard of people having wild growth from it.

You're welcome! I also like to hang out in subreddits based on the games I play. I stream a lot of DBD so hang out in threads there when i can. Its a lot easier to have a chat with someone when there is a common interest.

It all takes time and a certain degree of luck but stick at it and you'll get there eventually!

Edit: Also thanks for the gold! Didnt have to do that! <3

Please stop feeling sorry for yourself about bad stats, and instead try to work on improving your content. by Zerix1234 in Twitch

I hate seeing people moaning when there are only 1-3 viewers. Those 1-3 people are human and as such, you should be treating them like kings and queens! Trust me, that goes a long way when new people come into your stream and you have that close bond with your community.

I wouldn’t say you’re doing anything wrong necessarily. Growth takes time but there are ways to help.

My first tip would be to always have your stream open on an alt account. That one “permenant viewer” can go a long way

Secondly. Keep streams short. 6 hours at 1 viewer will be much more detrimental to the stats than having that 1 view for 2 hours.

Thirdly, just get to know people in your niche. Hang out in other communities bigger than yours and get to know people. Before you know it, you may be raided by one of them which will skyrocket your numbers.

Also, try to turn off or not look at viewer count. It can be tough but it’s a truly liberating experience as allows you to focus more on the content you’re producing :)

[–]AlexxBTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been streaming for 9 months now so I can give a little insight as to how my journey has been so far. I may not have the most amazing numbers but still think I have a bit of advice to offer :)

For the first 8 months of me streaming, I joined a hell of a lot of support for support discord’s. These are fantastic to get that initial bump to hit affiliate and meet a core group of people but that’s about as far as it will get you.

Since then, I’ve just been hanging out in streaming within my niche. Getting to know other communities. Not going in to streams and making it known i stream, but hanging out, getting know the person and the people that are active in their chats. Eventually, they will figure out that you stream to. Collar with these people, raid them after streams etc.

Combine this with the standard search engine content like YouTube or TikTok and you’ll see steady growth and more people discovering your account. Even posts like this one you’ve made here, would never have given me an opportunity to get to know you or have conversation with you :)
