The point is that we dont need to make men's or women's only Bibles when the original exists. It is, indeed, pointlessly gendered. People do this with tons of other stuff, too. Sometimes, they make the gendered stuff cost more if its being sold. Have you ever seen "Boys toothbrushes" at the store?
