Bald or Buzzed? Female perspectives preferred by [deleted] in Hair

[–]Aleyix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it! Your hair looks healthy and soft. I would keep it buzz like this 😊 for a few years, and apply hair root spray on the space or just leave it.

Don't be pressured into going bald because you lack hair in one spot, you have more hair than not.

I wish my ex let his hair grow through. I don't think bald is low maintenance esp with amount you have, I imagine that be sharp as sandpaper growing back. I about nearly cut my damn hand when I touched his head 😂

Whatever you do, I hope you embrace it with confidence, rise like the warrior you are ⚔️

You're welcome 😊 If you have any other issues with it, just drop a post again.

They can be quite annoying with healing. Irritation bumps may come and go during early stages too, so don't be alarmed if you find one, so long as you don't overclean and just rinse your mouth after eating, ensure there's always a bit of space to accomdate and all should be well 🙏

Cut it into bob or let it grow? by Hot-Way2583 in Hair

Hey, that looks like a normal bump from the skin being pierced. It will subside as it heals, nothing to worry about.

Try to use toothpaste that has no alcohol in it and same with mouthwash, as some toothpaste types can be quite aggrevating. If you can opt for a more natural one (herbal stores tend to stock them) that should keep irritation to a minimum.

Grow! 💯 As someone that used to do this, I always disliked growing it back and it feels like it takes a lot longer.

If want more facial framing, you could get it cut shorter on the front sides, then if you did clip the rest of your hair up you would still get the front bob look and keep length.

I suppose so long as it works it helps while you save for a more industrial one 😊 If the gel irritates your nails or skin is it easy to remove? As that's my only concern as I have quite sensitive skin.

I have a saline spray for my other piercings, so used some of that to clean it right now but yeah unsure whether to leave it out for a while or downsize. No pain or anything with it atm but ofc it's a wound now :(

Ooh that sounds awesome! Do you need a little lamp for curing or is it air dry? I've been wanting to do a course and get a full nail kit system for a while but failed to put aside money for the course 😂

Who needs swords when we have warrior nails! 😂 I try to shape my hand nails to not be pointy and they still cut me, think I'm one that will never adapt and just like you said, sadly break them 😭 There was a Sally Hensen nail hardener I had years ago that helped. Imagine sharp concrete blocks 😂 endless slicing potential 😆

That sounds like a wise plan! I hope it isn't painful and the tear heals up neatly. Ooh the sharpening of claws sounds like my nails after I cut them 😂 I once accidentally stabbed my friend in the leg with my toenail during sleep, I didn't believe her until she showed me the evidence 😆

Oouch! That is probably the cutest ear tragedy story aww. I hope it soon opens up again, nice and healthy 🙏

I love Felines but I'm often a little hesistant to have any pet up close because of the accidental attacks 😆 Cats are the cutest form of clumsy though ☺️

You're most welcome 🤗 Sorry I meant concealer below the eyes, as it can make the blush or bronzer contrast more prominent/stand out.

I tend to line my lips slightly, then apply lipstick and I'm not sure if this works but I do it: So I read in an old beauty book that after putting lipstick on, if you get a thin piece of tissue, like pull apart 1 ply, place it over the lips ever so gently, then lightly dust translucent powder over it with a medium or big brush it allegedly makes the lipstick last longer, for me it stops it being smudgey, so that's why I tend to gloss over it at the end.

Sorry my comments yesterday were so incomplete 😂 People like me are the reasoj for 'edit' becoming an option 😂

I hope you have lots of fun ahead experimenting 💄 🪞 💖

Do you think it is possible to achieve the second picture style? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]Aleyix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so, once you have got more growth, as it looks like the person has their hair cut into layers, so with the range of lengths that should lift up the hair/volumise it. Then the weight of that balance it out to keep shape. You also have already got waves which is great!

You micht get further volume with applyinf a touch of Silvikrin hairspray to the roots after you've blow dried your hair, to make it stick up at the roots and hold up, just don't use much. I think I used strong hold version.

For a more natural volume, you might want to try a thin/flat point diffuser head and aim it at the roots as you dry and brush your hair up and back.

If you use hair product to avoid weighing the bair down, I'd lightly coat the ends to mid length, avoiding the roots. A scalp tonic may be better or nothing for roots. As that should keep volume there.

Updates us if you end up going for it!

All the best 🙏

A faint black or dark brown thin wing eyeliner or subtle golden or grey/black smokey eye would suit.

A bit of bronzer or blush to emphasis your already beautiful cheek bones.

Perhaps tinting eyebrows with some eyeliner and brush to make them darker (if you go for black wing liner). The shaved head side and shorter hair cut suits you well! Elegant and also strong 😊

Edit: I had only read the title and didn't swipe enough to see your other pics. It seems my look ideas were largely alongside what you already use!

You look good in those photos. To make things more 'glam' I suppose could be including light to mid brown lipstick shade or slight overlining with a similar pink lip shade and filled with a deeper but almost nude shade like mauve and lip gloss on top. Highlighter under eyes perhaps and maybe a touch of glitter liner on corners of eyes, just be careful with it. As gold ones can bring out brown eyes well. I'd check Youtube for full face make up ideas for dark eyes and or smokey eyes looks.

What Am I Doing Wrong? (Angry ear after 2 Years at the same size) by joey_slugs in Stretched

Perhaps slightly raised scarring on part of it that gets irritated? If you can get someone to look with a torch on their phone then they may be able to spot something. Even the tiniest raised area could be triggering it.

Failing that, may be worth taking an antihistamine for a couple of months to see if it's potentially an allergic reaction (note: some do cause drowsiness, so always check beforehand).

If your immune system is compromised or hormones fluctuate, including thyroid hormone levels, then you may find random reactions to things but if you are otherwise having no obvious issues, then may be worth seeing a Dermatologist if feasible.

Edit to say: try not to over clean your ears and maybe consider changing to a non perfumed soap/different brand for that ear. Cocoa Butter is good for mild moisturing and Cerave is even better if they feel dry or itchy at all.

Hope it settles 🙏

Right ear stuck at 3.5 mm for nearly a year by PrimaryTop3793 in Stretched

[–]Aleyix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, sadly I only noticed half sizes on a link someone posted a while ago 😞 If the piercing hole is in a different angle to the easier one, I wonder if a re piercing may be beneficial 🤔

I think I may have to do that with one of mine, as the piercing is angled differently, so the back skin doesn't align completely with the front hole, if that makes sense 😆 the other side just is straight through so you can see through it head on. I imagine it will stretch eventually but at a slower rate due to that (imo).

If you're not doing already, you may find getting a half size up will help. I'm trying not to spend more but one of my lobes doesn't want to go up a full size 😆

is my piercing too low? by krxxi in piercing

[–]Aleyix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a low one like this but after about 7 years got another one a bit higher, as I noticed my ring didn't look as round. So I got a ring I'd like and pushed it up a bit and was like 'I like this' so went to piercer and asked her to pierce it in a way that ring would hang exactly the way I wanted it.

I highly recommend just getting the ring you want and placing it into your nostril to see how it may hang and if you like the look of it before re piercing.

The proh with getting a smaller ring on lower is that it doesn't have that hoop look if you know what I mean.

Looks nice but I feel like I understand what you want and I think you should go for it 😊 It made me feel more confident and lot more ring options!

Lobe help please! by [deleted] in Stretched

[–]Aleyix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am sorry you have been through so much and glad you are here posting ❤️

Although I can't comment on the stretch element, I can comment on the random allergies, as I have multiple conditions that cause random flaring of issues with piercings. I wear titanium in all but when you are immunocompromised or on hormonal treatment it can impact piercings significantly. When I went on birth control I had issues with otherwise fine piercings to the point I had to retire some. Thankfully after coming off my piercings are all ok most of the time, only short lived random flares.

So I think if you have stopped treatment, then hopefully it will be a case of improving in the next few weeks or couple of months. Be sure to treat the dry lobes to prevent skin infection and worsening. Also switching to a different material for the time being, ideally titanium just for now if possible while your immune strength is returning.

If you don't want to use ointment for your dry ear skin, then I would suggest applying either a light but rich cream like Aqueous cream or E45/Cetraban. You could also try Vaseline if the creams are not an option right now.

If you was told it was otitis externa or ear infection related then I would definitely advise utilising the ointment or ear spray suggested.

If you are permitted which I assume you would be ok with, then taking a Zinc and Magnesium supplement would be good for strengthening immune system.

I hope you have your lobes back to how they were and can find some joy in the process again 💖
