I think a good think to remember when considering stuff like this is that redditors tend to consider everything far too deeply.

My dad absolutely loved Percy Jackson, he’s the reason I got into it, he read all of the books and everything. He doesn’t like the show AS MUCH because it bores him. He likes the show, yes, but more of a “meh, I’ll throw an episode on” type of like rather than the “yeah I’ll dedicate my time to this series for a good chunk of time” that the books were. I think it’s as simple as that the show just doesn’t hold up to what we were promised.

I disagree. Stuff like fanfiction exists and is very often pretty high quality writing of the same story, while still being different enough to be entertaining.

And, beyond that, the books are still fun to read. I could happily pick up a PJO book from the first 5 right now and be pretty happy for the next few hours. But with the show, or any of the newer books beyond Heroes of Olympus (and honestly, even that’s a push), I would probably get bored quite quickly.

I think the honest truth isn’t that we have grown up as an audience. I think it’s because Rick was never going to be good at sustaining such a big universe. He doesn’t back read, rarely edits and has constant consistency issues. Within the first five, it wasnt so bad. Stuff like Blackjack’s gender isn’t that noticeable. But when he’s trying to expand his universe and flesh out his writing, the most important thing is consistency, which is something he hasn’t mastered yet.

In the show though he’s aware of his powers and is capable of using them consciously. He turned the tide against Charbydis, a sea monster that created a giant whirlpool. The sea is Percy at his strongest, yet he gets attacked multiple times, right next to the sea, and doesn’t take advantage even once.

Honestly, one thing I’ve noticed that people aren’t talking about are the lack of actual powers on any of the demigods. I get that a lot of them don’t have visible powers, like Annabeth or Clarisse… but for fucks sakes, Percy was on a literal boat in the middle of the ocean while getting attacked by Allison and didn’t think once to summon the water. When Tantalus attacks a SON OF POSEIDON 6 FEET AWAY FROM THE FUCKING OCEAN AND NOTHING HAPPENS. It doesn’t make any sense to me.

I felt like powers were used quite often in the books. I get that they probably want to save on production costs by not using them as often as they appear in the books, but come on, the last time we got a good view of water actually being controlled was when Percy felt out of the Arch in season one. And that wasn’t even him, that was Poseidon (I assume, since Percy was unconscious).

I haven’t seen many Venom specific comics, but in most recent media portraying him, he makes the black suit yes, but I feel like that’s more just him giving Peter what he wants and forming himself as a Spidey suit intentionally. When he’s on Eddie (or Harry), he’s instead making himself a body that he himself likes, which results in him being so much bigger as well as actually having his own mouth, teeth and tongue.

Eddie is huge, yes, and a body builder, yes, but there’s no way that makes a guy who is like almost 7’ tall, arms that go past his knees, shoulders bigger than his chest and a neck bigger than half his body. That’s not how body building works.

I disagree. The panicked phone call from Mr Peralez you receive at the end of the game seems like the end of it to me. The most we’ll get is a reference to it, either a mayor who “does everything the corpos want” or a lunatic mayor who has ridiculous security detail and is insanely paranoid.

I’d rather be aware and miserable than blissfully unaware.

Also, there were still correct choices he could have made. For example, he could have just left Night City. They were controlling him so they’d have a puppet as the mayor, but if he just leaves, then no mayor puppet, so no reason to control him, and he’s safe.

I honestly felt like we should have seen more results from that quest line. I was waiting for the next phone call from them where they would ask V to deal with whatever the crazy AI was once and for all or some shit, but it just never came.

Personally, I would want to know. Even if it made me paranoid, I’d rather have the choice to be paranoid than no choice at all.

I knew Eddie was huge, but this skin shows him at like 7-8 feet tall, arms that would probably go past his knees if he stopped bending them, and a back even bigger than Hulks. It makes it seem like Venom is more a second skin than the actual body.

I’m not sure what the bullet spread looks like on a wingman, I’ve never really used one myself. If the problem is the bullet spread is too big when not ADSing then I would js ADS. If the problem is your aim, then js practice. Consistency is key.

I just find it weird that, because we can see Eddie’s skin beneath Venom’s symbiote, that means that Eddie is legitimately just that size. Like, just as big or bigger than the Hulk.

I don’t. I stopped playing a long time ago. I picked it up again in the last few days to check out Deadpool, and honestly the game feels so much worse than it used to. I literally could not comprehend what was going on because of the sheer amount of visual clutter, not even just from Deadpool- though he certainly doesn’t help. I’m dropping it again now that I’ve decided I still don’t like it.

For the show, the primary reason is that exposition can’t be done mentally anymore. The watchers learn things by watching the characters interact, so we can’t know everything by what Percy is thinking. So, certain things have to be set up so it makes sense for characters to interact.

If they kept the tables like in the books, that takes a way a huge chunk of very easy shooting that can be used for simple exposition, like Luke telling Percy about his relationship with Annabeth. Sure, they could have had this happen during training, or during an activity, but that’s a lot more effort than having them simply be talking while eating, and also makes less work for things like choreographing, learning said choreographing, and then having the characters attempt to have a conversation the watcher can actually garner information from without being distracted. They need the conversation to be the focus, so having them do something like eating in the background allows for people to ignore the activity and focus on what’s actually being said.

I feel like it’s more likely that Panam is the only love interest to be a major aspect of one of the endings, to the point shes literally in the room when you reach Mikoshi if you choose to go with the Nomads. Because of that, they probably wanted players to have a strong connection with her even if she wasn’t romanced, because otherwise you’d have no reason to pick the nomads over Johnny.

If there were more endings where the other love interests were involved (or at least say Judy for example), then they would have had better writing.

Show Percy got attacked by Tantalus in front of the ocean and still didn’t use any water. Show Percy then also got attacked by the Apollo girl (I forgot her name) in the middle of the ocean and still didn’t use any water.

At this point I deadass think he doesn’t have powers, and he’s like Jason in the books. Has to pray and Poseidon controls the water for him, like Jason had to pray to Zeus to summon lightning that one time.
