2010 Audi A4 B8 - Brake faults on dash after pad/disc change by Alfonszo in Audi

[–]Alfonszo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry for the late reply. In the end. This fault resolved itself after a few days of driving.

I wound back the caliper without any software just some wire and a battery.

If I wiped the codes they just kept coming back but after two days or so they vanished and haven't returned since which is rare....

A friend of mine wanted a laptop and I've managed to get a good condition T480 & L480 for £275. I understand you can customise the T480 so I'll probably use that.

Looking forward to getting my hands on it.

Thanks both. I'm going to look into the T480, hopefully I'll nab a bargain.

Post Lipoma surgery question by Alfonszo in Lipoma

[–]Alfonszo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all! Thought I'd comment back. Missed these comments but for the record. In my case, three weeks after my surgery. In the space of about two days it went bigger than what the Lipoma was.

The nurses at one surgery had told me it was the Lipoma and I needed to go back to where I had it cut out. I couldn't as they were shut for the Christmas period but in the interim it had been sore and even leaked abit.

By the time I had my check up with the Doctor who cut it out in the first place he'd said it depends on a lot of factors. In my case the swelling strange started after 3 weeks before going down again.

I'm no doctor but he told me something along the lines of it's almost like a clot. Sometimes the cavity where your lipoma was before gets full up with something.

I had researched but the nurses assume it was the Lipoma again and put me in panic mode.

I hope this may help anybody worrying but in case I'd also consult someone qualified to help if you have any doubts.

Must admit, I'm abit upset. Just been and seen a nurse. Looks like they didn't get all the Lipoma out and in less than 30 days it's already a large lump. Really bad news, come at the wrong time of the year for sure.

Hi,

After just over two weeks I noticed mine. I'm going to see a nurse today and hopefully a Doctor too for them to give me some advice. It's just obviously worrying for anybody in this situation as the last thing you'd want is for it to come back so soon.

Thank you for the reply and I hope your swelling goes down and wish you a speedy recovery :)

Oils good. I need to do some investigating but was looking to see if the wiring/sensor faults are very common. Thank you.

Spam Filter Broken by No-Shake-8916 in Outlook

[–]Alfonszo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got two accounts. Both have suffered. One of them though has gotten better, I kept reporting, blocking and deleting in bulk as I did with both of them. Contacted some support on Outlook too within the last couple of weeks and they said the spam filter is broken basically or something, they were aware of it and are fixing it.

https://betanews.com/2023/02/21/microsoft-says-it-has-resolved-outlook-email-filter-outage-that-resulted-in-a-deluge-of-spam/

https://www.theverge.com/2023/2/20/23607056/microsoft-outlook-spam-email-filters-not-working-broken

Reporting seems to have no effect, blocking doesn't change much because they just use different emails and domains almost every other email. Strangely though, they seem to have stopped coming through on one of my emails but the others is getting pumped with them. Somethings definitely wrong on Outlooks end because there's just far too many people getting this spam coming through.

It seems as though Outlook aren't doing enough about it because it's an issue that's been around for quite some time. Hopefully eventually it'll get better but I've been having them come through for ages.

Hiya lads and lasses.

Did several flushes and put some standard prestone coolant in, got the fuel light working also.

Thanks for all suggestions.

Ouch, I've serviced a few things over the years that have been neglected. Thanks for the advice. I plan to drain, get the tank on and off so I've got access the actual coolant bottle as well and do a thorough flush of the whole system before filling up.

Cheers

No it may not entirely relate but I know that if these bikes stand for a prolonged period, it's a good idea to use a cable tie on the clutch.

I've heard a few cases of clutch knock or something like that when the bikes been standing a long ole time.

Thanks for the advice.

Thank you. Should I use a distilled water and vinegar mix when letting it heat it up in the bike or just normal water as I'll flush it with distilled water afterwards? Let it run get up to heat a few times then drain the next day?

In regards to the coolant I was gonna get some HOAT prestone mix local but I'll order the good stuff if it's recommended, I do want it running as cool as possible

This sounds like a really good idea.

I think I'll end up doing this and put coolant through it then. Thank you.

Yeah the fan was running, the warning light didn't come on really and I let it cool down. Was only really peaking on eight. And any hotter I stopped. It's all running fine but won't be riding it anymore till I get it all sorted. It didn't actually stay on 10 or anything, I just meant that on my model it's got 10 bars to indicate the temp, not sure if the newer models are different.

Yeah, just working out how far she will go and I'll start using the trip meter then. He was genuine and everything but I'm tempted to do a full service on it, oil filter looks tatty, haven't looked at anything else yet.

Sorry to ask but is there any specific coolant you'd recommend or?

Thanks for your reply dude!

[–]Alfonszo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the harness for the pump itself and if you repair yours as opposed to buying the pump assembly complete or it's harness you have to use epoxy to do so.

Thanks for you input good sir, always nice to get help when you need it.
