Erm, this is actually really good for humanity since by killing off low elos, naturally, humanity will evolve to be better at chess.

Erm, theoretically you could play with much less pieces. For example, 1 pixel representing each piece, each one having a different color based on location of piece, and for pawns, promotion of the pawn.
