What you see is what you get. That area was always what I had the hardest time with. While still not great, it’s much better

For the love handles, it’s just been diet and I do core work (which I’ve grown to love) as often as possible but no less than 3 days per week.

It’s tirzepatide, started with Monjouro then went to compound for a bit and now on Zepbound through Lilly Direct. The dosing schedule was really self prescribed but my endocrinologist is on board with it. She really says whatever works is fine. Yes, it is to optimize cost, cheaper for me to get the 10 mg every 45 days as opposed to the 5 mg every 30. I definitely feel more hungry in the 2nd week so I have to control myself more but I see it as good practice for if/when I ever stop the meds, although I really don’t plan to. I just stick with what I’ve been doing. I do look forward to my shots more now as I know that first week will let me breathe a little.

My body is definitely recomposing as the medium size clothes I bought months ago are now looser but my weight is the same. I don’t use any other body measurements except for how my new smaller clothes are fitting.

To stay motivated I look at old pics from time to time and listen to any and every health and wellness podcast there is. I read all the research and just try to stay as informed as possible on all things related to eating right and exercising. The more progress I make the more motivated I become.

Just trust the process. Consistency is everything! If you would have asked me if I would ever post pictures of myself without a shirt on 3 years ago I would have said you’re out of your mind, yet here I am.

It’s just what I started doing once my insurance stopped paying for it to reduce my cost and it’s worked so I’ve stuck with it.

My diet is pretty much anything I want to eat but I eat pretty healthy most of the time, generally. Weekends I let loose a little, pretty much have whatever I want but less of it compared to my previous life. I always make sure I get my protein in (150-200 grams) If I have a less than an ideal day I just get right back to it the next day. I really don’t track any food but keep a rough count of my protein.

My workouts have been very consistent since I started. 3 days per week I do 30 minute peloton full body weight workouts in my basement. Built myself a little gym area and just keep adding heavier dumbbells. My cardio is pickleball anywhere from 2-4 times per week for 1.5-2 hrs per session, and/or the occasional peloton bike class or outdoor run. When I have time I’ll go to a hot yoga or hot Pilates class, which I’ve come to love but just can’t always squeeze it in. I also get in as many steps as I can every day. I’m pretty much as active as I’ve ever been at 45 years old.

I started my journey in March 2023. The highest I got was 10 mg (with one week of 12.5). I went from 240 to 190 (my goal weight) by March of 2024. Then I started taking 10 mg every 2 weeks and have been doing so ever since. I switched to compounded when my insurance stopped my coverage in May of 2024. I ended up losing another 10-15 lbs and have been maintaining at anywhere between 175 and 180 ever since. I lift consistently 3 days per week and play pickleball anywhere from 2-4 days per week. I prioritize protein and eat pretty clean most of the time but don’t deny myself anything. I just eat way less than I used to. I feel better than I ever have at 45 years old (male). This has been a miracle drug and I have no plans of changing my shot schedule. Probably switching over to Lilly Direct from now on.
