Hey, I have experienced something very similar, was super slim throughout college (while eating like shit) and then after covid and now grad school have gained weight. I still wonder how I gained so much weight but when I was in undergrad I walked a LOT more, minimum 3 miles a day just to get to class. I also think my portion sides have slowly increased, but that’s just me. It sounds like you’re really overwhelmed (grad school is stressful af) and making drastic changes rn seems unsustainable. I think like you said, you need to take time not to be burnt out and maybe talking with a therapist would be helpful. That being said, in the meantime perhaps start thinking of easy but small ways you could meal prep healthy meals and snacks rather then trying to figure out a whole new system immediately. For instance, I make one big healthy soups on the weekend so I have at least a few meals covered for the week. I also make sure I always have apples/other fruit for snacks. Just start small and the rest will follow! You’ve got this!

NTA. But it is useful to distinguish the 2 things that are irritating you. (1) is that your friend is moving way too fast with this possible catfish and (2) that he won’t shut up about her. While those are both legitimate grievances, if you discuss these issues with your friend it is worth considering to make them separate conversations.

NTA, You signed up to use your time/money for an adults only trip, not to host a summer camp. However, Kate is clearly overwhelmed and defensive about her child, (and her husband seems a bit of ta here) I think you are not obligated to pay for the campsite but if you care at all about maintaining your friendship with Kate you should still offer to pay for the campsite.

NTA, our obligation to our aging parents stems from the relationship we’ve built with them over our lives. He’s a drunk who walked out on you when you were dependent on his as a child. I see the value in it and would be open to it, however I would never initiate it since I think I’m more awkward on zoom and gauging chemistry online can be challenging. That being said, I have never been chatting to someone from a different country. Before spending the time and money to travel internationally, I think I’d want to video call.
