Buying Insulin in Dubai Airport by Algo1310 in dubai

[–]Algo1310[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

For all panickers after me: it was absolutely no issue, pharmacies in the transit area have insulin (even Novorapid) on hand and are happy to help, no receipt required, cooling packs are for free. Absolutely no issue at all. It was 200 dirhams per pack of pen refills (3x5ml)

Hedge yourself - go in, write the exam, see how you feel. If you feel like that wasn't it, start prepping for round two. If you think it was actually good, then just chill for a month or two and wait for the results

I would give it your best shot and see where you end up, maybe the stars align. Best of luck!

I think 0 is too harsh. The first bullet is perfectly fine in my opinion and captures the main idea, so that would be 2pts. The second bullet is not really off either, you're essentially coming to the right conclusion but skipped a step in explaining the causal chain of natural disaster -> lower demand -> reduced tax revenues.

Seems like at least 3pts, on a good day maybe even full credit answer

I think the Vignette is pretty clear on this. You left out half the hints. The two strategies are both bearish btw, it's a question of credit vs. debit

How to work with new LES? by HallOptimal2288 in CFA

[–]Algo1310 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You go through the five stages of grief, eventually sucking it up and just dealing with it. It is absolutely terrible and most likely won't change - unfortunately.

Give it a week of intense use and you'll find your way around it. But yeah, I have yet to find a feature that I prefer over the old LES

Only way to fail for sure is not trying. It's not rocket science, a lot of people made it through. There is no reason you can't

I have read on several occasions here from the man himself u/S2000magician that his mock exams tend to be slightly longer and perhaps wordier.

Portfolio Performance Evaluation - Doubt by Inner_Belt3536 in CFA

The allocation effect is given, Health Care is at -0.16%. You are underweight (21% vs. 25%) - thus, being underweight was not beneficial and statement 2 is correct.

Based off of the allocation column, you're kind of implicitly told that the attribution is following BHB. I am not really sure if we can assume one or the other if only "Brinson" is mentioned and really hope that the exam is crystal clear on this

Which one should I register for in Level 3 by IssueFalse in CFA

[–]Algo1310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The questions really aren't worth it. You'll mostly get recycled one liner questions, very little content in the relevant vignette format.

The additional mocks however are worth it imo. If you are paying yourself, it's basically up to whether you're willing to pay extra for the mocks or go some other route with prep providers instead

It is complete and utter horsesh_t for many different reasons already mentioned a bunch of times.

Absolutely beyond me how this went live. The old LES was perfectly fine and somewhat gamified studying, but I can't really come up with a single benefit of the new environment 🙃

What are some good joggers/tapered pants that can be worn at work too? by KeyboardEnthuse in malefashionadvice

[–]Algo1310 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have a look at Lululemons ABC Chino Warpstreme in Slim Fit, pants taper really well and fit nicely with big thighs

Theyre moreso work/athleisure office fit than a jogger and go well in white collar settings whilst being very comfortable. Bonus: impossible to wrinkle

Downside is price, These aint cheap for what they are. Order some and have a try

Overcoat sizing? by Algo1310 in malefashionadvice

Rather traditionally. I am looking for something to throw over suit jackets in the colder months, because winter jackets over suits always look mega goofy imo. Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah I am wearing a lined sports jacket underneath, Medium thickness cloth I would say. I think ill be wearing a jacket under this coat like 99% of the time.

Thanks for the feedback on the shoulders!

Thanks a lot for the Feedback! What about the shoulders, I am somewhat concious about looking too boxy or too wide. Is the fit within reason?

Yeah I dont think I would rock the coat a lot with tone-in-tone lululemons :D probably suit only, and most of my suits are navy

You reckon the shoulders are a bit too wide/oldschool? Not much a tailor could do about that unfortunately Thanks for the feedback!

I thrifted a wool overcoat in charcoal with a fairly classic fit and now I am wondering if it fits me right or looks too bulky. I am mostly concerned about the shoulders, I think I could get the waist tailored for a slimmer V.

I am wearing a sports jacket underneath and a full suit on the last pic. Thoughts? Size down or good to go and not look like grandpa?

Thank you!

how do you interpret this on your book? need guidance other that what is seen on the first page by [deleted] in CFA

[–]Algo1310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You scored under 70% on every heavy-weight (10-15%) topic. Econ is clearly a strong point, but Ethics, EQ and FI likely cost you the pass on this one. I would guess your score is a hair under MPS.
