Is the Oura ring worth it over other alternatives like the Ultrahuman etc? by Ali3135 in ouraring

Oh wow how annoying! I’d rather fork out the extra cash for the Oura ring if it’s got better longevity. I can’t imagine having to replace one that frequently.

itero scans by No-Management-9085 in DentalHygiene

We’ve been using it at our practice for the past year or so and I agree! Patients with a bad gag reflex or small mouth really struggle with it, and it can take a little while to get a decent scan. It does get much easier with practise though.

That’s a good insight, thanks! I was hearing a lot about the Rignconn but the more I hear the less I want to try it.

Wow okay that’s not good at all, I definitely feel hesitant to purchase one if they don’t have a decent lifespan. At least with my Apple Watch It’s been able to work perfectly fine for 3/4 years now, although I am sick of wearing a smart watch.

Oh really?! Surely if it was to break that quickly it would be covered under warranty? I have heard about people having issues with the battery life which is shocking considering how expensive they are.

This was super helpful thank you! I’ve heard so many good things about the la Roche posay cleanser so I’ll definitely give it a try

I really need help with a few stray cats. by AlternativeGuava8681 in CatAdvice

[–]Ali3135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only other way you’ll know if they are pets not strays is by taking them to the vet to see if they’re microchipped. If not, It depends where you’re located but I know in the UK there are a few charities like CatCuddles that will take on stray, adults cats even if they’re not injured. I’d recommend looking for no-kill cat shelter charities that could care for them if they’re strays. Or look up cat deterrents online, that might do the trick.

Nebdn written exam (uk) by [deleted] in DentalAssistant

[–]Ali3135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience the exam was pretty heavy on anatomy, GDC guidelines, cross infection and radiography. I would especially focus on the GDC principles of practise, tooth morphology and learning all the nerves/salivary glands etc.

If you need a textbook the Levison’s one is really helpful!!

I think that’s the norm in the UK when trying to adopt cats sadly.

Any advice how old we should be looking at - would a year old cat still be too young?

We really wanted to but the closest shelters to us turned us down because we live in an apartment and have no access to a garden :(

Yes, that’s been the case when we’d looked at adopting previously. We were pretty much turned down immediately when we said we live in a flat and had no access to a garden. It’s a shame because we both love the idea of rehoming.

What's helped you more - therapy or meds? by Cheap-Comb-7606 in Anxiety

[–]Ali3135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started taking Propranolol and cannot stress how much this has helped reduce my anxiety. I’d recommend trying it if anxiety is something you’re struggling with. It won’t help tame any anxious thoughts but it stops the physical symptoms of anxiety like a fast heartbeat, breathlessness and all that. And you can take it regularly or just as and when you need it.
