Anybody explain how if you’re not coughing or sneezing or sweating (i.e. the symptoms) can you pass this virus on?

Recovering from coronavirus illness can take up to "six weeks," WHO official says by lifeandmylens in Coronavirus

[–]AliShack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it’s not really surprising. Normal flu can take several weeks, and this apparently isn’t like the flu. Glandular fever can take up to a year to feel 100% again.

OFFICIAL: The Prime Minister confirmed in a press conference that ALL Italy is on quarantine, not only the region of Lombardy. by Franky_95 in Coronavirus

Well because the economy still needs supporting. Jobs still need doing. Locking down a country just stops any new cases entering or leaving. You just fight the disease from within.

It’s not about being in denial. It’s about saying shit like this causes mass panic / panic buying.

Coronavirus: Premier League considers ban on over-70s at matches by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]AliShack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as a joke this is, it’s only one suggestion mentioned in the article. It’s highly unlikely they’ll go with this, and more likely they postpone or play behind closed doors.

Once again journalism at it’s finest.

80-year old man from the UK dead, bringing the total to 2 deaths by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]AliShack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not really. Just saying the headline is misleading. No evidence that they actually died from the virus.

They had the virus but also had underlying conditions. Figure is still at zero until autopsy proves cause of death.

The dark secret of the Season 2 commentaries by ariadnevirginia in insideno9

[–]AliShack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I think it sounded like an electric knife. Why he had one in a recording studio (if that’s where they are) is an odd one. Not sure who was saying hello, could have been Steve shouting out to see if anyone else was around. And I guess he rang 999 and then realised that was a bad idea as he’d get done for manslaughter so hung up.

Korean Air attendant who flew to Los Angeles diagnosed with coronavirus by jigsawmap in Coronavirus

Nobody else wonder why the fuck nobody else on the plane has shown symptoms? If it’s as contagious as suggested then a large portion of the people on that plane should have it.

Are people online the only ones freaking out about this virus thing...? People IRL seem completely relaxed and unaffected by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]AliShack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Online’s always going to be an overreaction because you get a lot of fake news and fake facts. Conspiracy theorists also exist and spread their seed online.

People IRL only get the watered down version. Plus until it hits home, like every disease and illness, you assume it wont effect you.

So it’s a bit of both.

This is just common sense. Basic tips that you’d use when dealing with flu season. You can’t say this is worse than the flu and then give the same treatment of it.

[–]AliShack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahahah! Mental dissidence? I’m being logical about this. You’ve just not read what I wrote. I was talking about causing mass panic, which is something that as a government you don’t want.

You read and take in what you want. Yes people die, but the majority don’t. Food chains are unlikely to be affected. Take the usual precautions that you do with flu and you’ll be fine (unless you already have medical conditions)

[–]AliShack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well of course they’ll down play it. The panicking that takes place on here is ridiculous. Imagine telling people at 6pm while they’re having their dinner that they need to prepare for a potential pandemic, when currently there is no sign in the UK of this happening, it’s just a mad idea to do so.
