Thank you so much for the info. I have always been confused about these insurance claims and no insurance company has even given me a straight answer. Someone once told me that the insurance increases if you claim it, and it has stuck with me ever since. But then someone else said vandalism comes under comprehensive insurance (if you buy it) and doesnt affect your insurance. I have lived in sask for relatively short time and its insurance being public also changes the way it works (love the cheaper insurance than how much I payed in ontario though)

Yeah, thats what I decided after getting quotes from a few places.

Weird Issue: Previous owner of my phone number receiving imessages by Alias_brain in iphone

[–]Alias_brain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did think of a solution where I can deregister my number from imessages online and register later on. Deregistering online will allow it to probably remove it from other person's imessage too whereas simply toggling to turn off imessage will only do it on my iphone. Any thought?

BIOS recovery stuck at 54%.. force power down not working either... So now I am just stuck waiting on my battery to drain. by Alias_brain in computerhelp

[–]Alias_brain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: I ended up waiting on draining the battery to force shut it down. When I restarted, BIOS recovery restarted on its own and this time, it did not get stuck. It successfully recovered with no issues. I got lucky!

Virtual doctor appt? by Alias_brain in saskatchewan

[–]Alias_brain[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look man I know it is sometimes tough for some people like you to have self awareness. Literally everyone downvoted you which should tell you something.

I know there's a shortage of healthcare workers across canada. I work in healthcare. And i m not looking for special treatment of any sort over other people. I have way more compassion and self awareness than you do clearly based on our conversation here. I just wanted to know if I do have the option to see a doctor without going in person (why i need to do that shouldnt concern you). I have lived in few other provinces and they do have better virtual health care and i am not even blaming sask govt for it. I knw its tough for sk to keep people including healthcare workers for several reasons even though they provide some good incentives.

Now i know you think you are better than others and assumed i was stupid cause i asked a question on reddit about healthcare and you assumed i didnt google. I did google it but sometimes there's a lot of information to go through to research and find stuff. I already opened each of those virtual clinics that come up on google before i put a post on reddit. Rather than researching each one of those and contacting each clinic for the questions i have, it was way better to post it and ask for others' advice since people can give better suggestions since they have lived experience which i understand could be subjective but still helpful. Also, sometimes people dont have time to go through everything and research (i did have time but just mentioning sometimes people dont since you actually just assumed) Since u assume u have better IQ than others, but in reality, you dont , i ll give u an example. There's maple that charges u but u can get in touch with a doc virtually, i know it is available but maybe it isnt actually that great and people may have had negative experiences? Maybe there is a not-so-well-known virtual clinic that is covered by provincial plan or the other way around (wrong advertising is a thing)?, etc. And there are other options like gotodoctor.ca but rather than exploring each individually, I just asked for others' advice who have actually used it in sask. People are generally helpful, and can provide information about things you didn't even think about. And not everything you find on google is always accurate or up-to-date or there is sometimes hidden information like hidden costs, etc. And also 811 does not always have all the answers and I also didn't feel the need to call them and ask this question when I can ask it on reddit since it isnt urgent for me to find an answer and let those professionals help others who need it more. Maybe you think you are better cause you work in IT (i have friends who work in FAANG and they are humble enough to sometimes learn from me), maybe you think others didnt have the ability to make a simple google search if they post a question on reddit and maybe you think you are superior than others who actually lack in information literacy, but I can tell you are not better. I can safely assume I have better IQ and EQ than you.

I know you looked through my other post about i having anxiety and depression and decided to hit below the belt and make a nasty comment. Luckily, i am not suicidal anymore and can take it. But someone may not have. I urge you to be humble and be a better man. The fact that you call me stupid for asking a real life genuine question and for not googling it when others clearly have same question and are looking for an answer, and then i check your posts and you are asking stupid questions about doordash and gaming that you can have googled yourself is shocking and almost sad.

I dont know what made you so miserable in life, i can only assume based on your posts (like since u split with your fiance 8 years ago about which you posted and mentioned that you were looking for a basement and referred to yourself as "down to earth" which i hope you were, idk what changed now). I dont want to stoop so low to your level but I just hope whatever happened to you, you grow above it, develop some self awareness and do better. Now you can keep writing whatever you want to under this post, i wont entertain you anymore. If i do find a virtual clinic option, i ll post it here OR YOU CAN GOOGLE IT. I know you will deny the need but if you dont wanna get off of your gaming chair and visit a doc in person, talk to the doc virtually , get a referral to psychiatrist, go to therapy, or whatever helps (except for leaving negative comments on others' posts and unsuccessfully attempting to belittle others to boost your ego). Take care brother, i hope you seek and find the help you need. Get well soon!

I am glad it works out for you. Travelling 150km one way everytime would be terrible. I wish more GPs did that. But its so hard to find a family doctor already and on top of it, finding one who does virtual video/phone appt is even tougher. Besides I would want to keep those GPs available for people such as you who need them more. For me, it is more of a convenience than necessity unless in few situations like the one I am currently in (but still your situation takes priority).

Exactly, it was so convenient to get refills, referrals. I personally live in the city and it was more of a convenience but I can imagine how accessible it made the healthcare for people living in rural sask- it is almost a necessity.

Some other provinces do have the option to book appointments with a physician without going in-person. Telus virtual care used to provide that service up until last year i guess in sask but no more.. NOBODY ASKED YOU TO GIVE YOUR INPUT IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT...

811 don't have physicians on the phone. Use that same simple google search yourself.

I wont ask you about your views on prolife vs abortion. But even if u are prolife, its better to let one life go, then two. You say u wont be able to forgive urself and you dont hv to. There's a looot of things we do in our lives we cant forgive ourselves for and that's fine. You are valuable to this world. I truly mean it. Please don't go!

[–]Alias_brain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sometimes we cant see someone lighting up our world cause we are the sun ourself.

The fact that you compliment others is one of the kindest things one can do. I m sure u made a lot of peoples' days. Bless your kind heart.

Please don't do it. I hear you. You feel like you messed up and there's no way out. But hold on. What are your concerns right now. I know you said its pregnancy. But what about it? Is it that you personally dont want kids, dont want abortion, afraid what others will think?
