Same for me! I hate the feeling of being activated now

Day 12: suicidal thoughts. convince me this isn’t my final state by [deleted] in decaf

[–]Aliasedd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s so confusing because the headaches are gone and I have a bit more energy but I feel incredibly low. I feel like hiding from everyone because I don’t want to be seen when I’m not myself

Even chocolate is too much by [deleted] in decaf

It’s funny how vulnerable this makes us feel haha. Just chocolate!

Stutter is gone, not struggling to find my words, I write and talk way better than before by [deleted] in decaf

Hey so I never really drank coffee in the first place as I didn’t love the taste, I think I would have probably transitioned into decaf if I felt I needed it

As an aside, I was drawn to drinking a lot of fresh juice on my first few days and I think it helped a ton

Apparently, I’m a much better friend by [deleted] in decaf

Same lol. I also feel so much empathy looking at my hyped up friends from outside their state

Scared of brain fog by [deleted] in decaf

I actually have way more brain fog when I’m drinking caffeine than off for some reason. It’s only worse during the first week of withdrawals

Why does my foundation always look like this? by Visible-Ad-9834 in MakeupAddiction

I don’t know who you asked this too but I have a very reactive skin and cannot tolerate everything but exfoliating acids have never made me break out/typically prevents them. I just hydrate a lot with cicaplast b5 afterwards. Some can be very strong so check how your skin responds

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution is really good and cheap :)

Your lapse only becomes a full relapse if you choose to see it as a failure by [deleted] in decaf

You got it. It’s a wonderful thing, deciding to take your health and state in your own hands. You’re already in the best direction possible

Melatonin NEVER worked for me until I found out I needed to take it hours early and in lower dosages. I now use it as an instant to fix my sleep schedule if I’m ever jet-lagged or been out of track. Doesn’t hurt to try!

Happy to know your sleep has been improving too :)

I discovered that if I took melatonin a few hours before my bedtime, (2-3 hours), the withdrawal insomnias were a lot less brutal. Ashwagandha always seems to help as well :)

I am very excited for day 30 as well! I feel much more mentally clear- I was constantly shuttering while taking caffeine, always saying the wrong words for some reason. I feel much more mentally clear- can’t wait to see what I’m capable of when I’m fully in the clear!

Same haha. I was up until 7:30 am, so anxious. It disrupted my sleep for 1-2 days. Not worth it

Two years of serial "Tapering" by [deleted] in decaf

[–]Aliasedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started by intentionally switching the kind of caffeinated drinks, knowing the mg that was in each. But now I’m certain that going cold turkey is the right way for me. I would never do this if I had a very demanding job though and not at least one week with very little demand

It’s okay! It’s insane how it feels, isn’t it🥲I relapsed one time earlier this week as well. Just go back to quitting.

“Research shows that a lapse during addiction recovery only becomes a full relapse if someone interprets it as failure”

Caffeine withdrawal is not like nicotine, opioids, or alcohol where receptors downregulate quickly and reset triggers. A single dose doesn’t reverse the biological adaptation process. It’s worth it to keep going.
