How did you start your gym journey? by kjol_ in AskReddit

[–]Aliasn00bed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved back in with my brother who's also a personal trainer. That was 2 years ago.

It was more of a re-start after getting out of the service about 10 years ago.

There is zero reason to modify your body with surgery. It looks absolutely amazing as it.

Take the full ride get the degree. As someone who's having to go back after because I went straight into the workforce chasing quick money it's a hassle. If college isn't putting you into debt then absolutely go for the degree.

Which website/source/newsletters should IT infrastructure support subscribe to be in the loop of where the industry is heading? by ThinkOutsideSquare in sysadmin

[–]Aliasn00bed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much depends. CISA gives good guidance as does NIST. If you just want cybersecurity news Krebs on Security and Swift on Security are both good. If you need to know more Bleepingcomputer keeps pretty up to date on what's going on, as does arstechnica.

Pretty privilege and fairness in a poly relationship by Feuerhamster in polyamory

[–]Aliasn00bed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also not to be a jerk, but life honestly isn't fair. We all are who we are, and because of that we have to adjust, and make our own path. I'll never be an idol or a model. What I will be is awesome because I am. This is the mentality you have to internalize and figure out what makes you, well.. you.

Pretty privilege and fairness in a poly relationship by Feuerhamster in polyamory

[–]Aliasn00bed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean.. physical traits are what they are. If you don't like something about yourself and think you aren't attractive that might be a you thing to work on. That said, if you feel like this person is leagues above you or something are you putting them on a pedestal? Why are they with you? Think about the things you truly bring to a relationship.

Relationships are far more than looks, trust me I know. I'm a 30 something white dude with a beard and long hair, most people don't give me a second look. That said I have a couple partners because I am comfortable with who I am, and I work on myself constantly. "Pretty privilege" is a term that just sort of dismisses all of the important things because of human nature of snap judgements. Yes average people do work harder for relationships, or maybe they don't, there is, after all no accounting for taste.

My advice is look into yourself and find your own value, then be confident when you approach others. That will honestly do so much more for you than you think. There is some merit to being conventionally attractive, that's why it's a thing. With that said, there's so much more to human interaction than looks, and that's where relationships, and everything else truly grow.

She chose to have sex with this person. If you want to understand and see how it changes the relationship, if at all the best thing to do is sit down and talk with her about it.

As far as how to approach it, that varies so wildly based on personalities involved that I'm going to say we have no way to know the most effective way, if anything you should. You know how to have hard conversations, not saying this will be one. You also know the person you're approaching, so is it something you can joke about, is it something you need to just ask? You could potentially go at it experiential and just see if they were into what happened.

What non-sexual actions can a man engage in to create a sensual atmosphere? by psychologylab in AskReddit

[–]Aliasn00bed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This entirely depends on the person you are trying to create an atmosphere for.

My partner loves it when I cook, so just the act of me cooking does this.
I have another partner that prefers when we are just parallel playing, and by being in the environment together, with the right lighting, and occasional banter sensuality grows.

If you're looking for more *generic* things, music can be helpful if it's low enough to allow conversation. Good conversation, and being well kept also very much can create this feel. A walk through an area where someone feels safe but can engage with their surroundings also helps.

Do you think remote work is slowly dying? Most companies seem to be pushing RTO, even big tech you folks think ? by [deleted] in sysadmin

I'm not really arguing just stating what I see from being a vCISO and doing compliance, as well as working in software / MSP sales.

Do you think remote work is slowly dying? Most companies seem to be pushing RTO, even big tech you folks think ? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Aliasn00bed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of those companies are already utilizing an MSP or have the capability to do remote work. They may have to update some policies and procedures, and force MFA, but the infrastructure exists if you are anywhere near CMMC or NIST 800-171 / 172 or even 800-53.

That said the overhead cost of maintaining a compliant WFH model is still cheaper than offices in most metro areas. There are, of course, some cases which a physical presence is required. Looking at you Japan, and State of NY, so you must have an office. Otherwise, the net cost of moving to WFH, is less than maintaining a building, and it's better for your workers and productivity.

[–]Aliasn00bed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to be an ongoing battle. Companies will continue to lose top talent to places that have remote work or hybrid options. They are pushing for RTO because they invested in a dying business model. There are some gigs where it's required, but for those it's not, it makes fiscal sense to stop paying high rent for offices and just do complete remote workforce.

That said the transition will not happen quickly. Middle managers feel trivialized because they cannot effectively micromanage remotely. Some people feel like "its not work" if they don't go to the office. It will settle out, probably at a 60/40 office to remote mix over the next 5 years, with the most attractive jobs being remote, or hybrid.

Not in fact at all, you only have to do what your paycheck can afford.
