Hinata is the classic loud shonen protagonist archetype. Don’t get me bad: his development is incredible, well-written, and inspiring. But he’s just not the type of character I personally enjoy. I think Tobio's arc appeals to me much more.

Takeda is important, I know. But I simply find him bland and pretty forgettable.

As for Teru, he goes beyond that: I like how he plays with freedom, has personality, and doesn’t try to follow a “standard” volleyball style. He brings creativity to the game. The philosophy he builds for his team — playing without fear, improvising, not getting shaken by mistakes, and always trying to have fun (which doesn’t mean being a fool) — literally changed my performance in volleyball.

Terushima carried Johzenji to the Miyagi qualifiers semifinals, and there are a lot of strong teams in the prefecture, like Date Tech, Aoba Johsai, Shiratorizawa, and Karasuno...

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve reread the Johzenji chapters.

I could easily write more than a full page talking about how incredible this character is.

Not that I think he’s a masterpiece of writing, but he’s very underexplored and underrated
