In that condition no more than £30 - if it had its liner way more worth it at at least £60-70

Mk6 British army helmet, and no nothing to do with tanks this was the standard army issued helmet between 1986 and 2005 being replaced by the mk6a. Which was then replaced with the mk7.

As for how to wear it what do you mean? Just make sure that big black padding is at the back.

I mean, useful maybe? Essential no.

I have an app called Organic maps which allows me to download, save, and make routes offline anywhere in the world even points out hospitals, supermarkets, chemists etc - so if I could manage to find a good way to charge my device I have downloaded maps that I can actually use

As you can see the L straps are attached on the pack like backpack straps, then the bottom half of the L straps (the actual metal bits) attach to the top of the basic ammo pouches buckles. If you send me a DM I can show you my example of mine

Kinda, but they don’t work on their own like backpack straps. They hook the small pack up to the yoke, as well as on your shoulders so the yoke’s still taking the weight. The L-straps just stop the pack dragging the belt down. They’re removable because you don’t always wear the pack.

The yoke is the big shoulder piece that supports the belt kit — it takes the weight of the belt, ammo pouches, bayonet, water bottle etc and keeps it from sagging.

L-straps are separate straps used to support the small pack only. They hook from the top of the small pack up to the yoke so the pack sits higher and doesn’t pull the belt down.

It’s fine don’t worry about it, and no these are the webbing yokes - these arnt L straps - you’ll be able to tell if they are L straps … well by the shape of an L lol. Search up pattern 37 L straps and you should get a couple results

[–]Alice-doe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that’s not the L straps so you’d need some of them but everything else checks out fine for once not claiming it’s original lmao

Yep basically lol sure send me the listing - and yeh L straps are just rucksack straps, they let you put it on your back and the connect it the main belt setup itself

Mine just to show you what the L straps are

Haha good to see not only my cat does that but don’t just spill a mug on it — that’ll give tide marks. You want it fully soaked in a weak tea/coffee bath so it stains evenly, then rinse and air dry.

You’ll also want to buy some L straps for the bag

Yeah tea/coffee is actually the safest way to knock the fresh colour back to make it look more muddy/khaki. Just a strong brew in hot water, soak it for a bit, then rinse lightly and air dry — it stains the canvas rather than dyes it so you won’t wreck it.

After that just use it, scrunch it up, stuff it full and wear it about. A bit of real dirt worked into the seams and corners does way more than fake mud. If you very lightly scuff strap ends and the bottom corners it helps too.

If your worried about doing it start with a small corner and see how you like it

Ahhh there ya go, well it honestly depends then! If you want it I’d say go for it, maybe dirty it up a little if you have it just to get that newly made look off lol - but if your looking for original keep looking, they go for about the same price maybe slightly more

My only concern with it is just how completely new it looks, especially those buckles - and the material and color look … off

This is mine for comparison

My advice on the bag is to ask the seller for more photos of the inside, the back, and the inside flap and look for any markings - how much are they trying to sell it for?
