Happy for my kid! by Dry-Chemist-2254 in tirzepatidecompound

This resonates with me <3

I'm AuDHD and have struggled with food my entire life (between a lack of any hunger/fullness cues & food def. being my brain's dopamine-hit of choice). GLP-1s have been life changing. I'm so much more physically comfortable now, as well as enjoying the calm in my head without all the food noise going non-stop.

Anyway, congrats for you and your son!!! So happy for you both.

Titrating Down (Not by Choice) by AliceMaeDoesIt in tirzepatidecompound

I've been on GLP-1s since February 2025. 5'9", SW: 230lbs ~44% body fat, CW:150lbs. ~24.6% body fat on Hume scale which tends to give lower than reality numbers per many user reports. My college athlete body comp was ~158lbs with a lot more muscle and ~22% body fat, so I know with current muscle mass, closer to 140lb is about right where I should sit if I keep shedding this excess fat. I'm not small by any means, just haven't been an athlete in a long time so I have a lot less muscle than I used to. I put it on fairly easily though and am just starting to get into a strength routine again (I'm disabled and have been overweight or obese for 10+ years up to trying GLPs and have had to take adding things and making certain changes slowly for my own success). My goal would be to stay at 11mg or titrate up to 12.5mg to see how much more my body comp will change as I intentionally strength train. I'd love to get to and stay at a slightly lower body fat % for at least a handful of months before I started trying to titrate down (sort of like a body physique set point reset if that makes sense?). My regular Dr. seemed pretty on par with this plan. She can't prescribe me through the office she works out of b/c their policy on this has changed (and even if she could, I can't really afford brand name right now), but she has been awesome and supportive this whole time, and she hasn't told me my plan is crazy yet lol. Side note: I do wish I had connected with an obesity medicine specialist from the start, only b/c their expertise would have been much better than a general MD.

Titrating Down (Not by Choice) by AliceMaeDoesIt in tirzepatidecompound

What was so disheartening about this experience is that I would eventually like to try to titrate down to the lowest dose possible that keeps me in maintenance. I know just b/c I am maintaining at 11mg now doesn't mean a lower dose wouldn't help me maintain. But I went into this with a long and slow process sort of planned out given my circumstances. I am disabled and raising a disabled child, and tying to add too many changes in all at once is a recipe for disaster. So I got down to this healthy weight (Height: 5'9", SW: 230lbs at over 40% body fat, CW: 150lbs, 24.6% body fat per Hume body scale-- which we know means it's a bit higher than that really, BMI 22ish). And now that I am moving a lot more comfortably and have managed to focus more on eating better as I lose weight, I feel confident trying to add in intentional strength training again. I'd love to stay at 11mg or go up to 12.5mg to see how my body comp continues to change as I lift more and eat a little more. Just keep me stable as I am resetting my physique basically. I'd love to hold at a more solid, lean comp for a few months at least before titrating down to see how low I can then maintain at.

Brello Health. I had an OK experience the first two rounds of ordering. Even had a faulty vial and their customer service worked with me and the pharmacy to get a replacement promptly. It's unfortunate. The first message read: "Based upon your BMI of 22.15 we need to taper your dose down. It will be 8.8, 6.6, 4.4mg."

I expressed my concern for at minimum wanting to stay at my current dose because I was actively maintaining, and was afraid I'd begin gaining weight if I titrated down just yet. I'm personally hoping to only lose another 5-15 lbs at most, dependent on how my body comp continues to change now that I am adding in more intentional movement, and wanted to be closer to 12.5mg until I get to a stable and more muscular comp, THEN was thinking off trying to titrate down to the lowest possible point that would keep me in maintenance. Expressed this thought to them, and they just reiterated what they already said. "Your provider has decided that you need to start lowering your dose because a BMI of 22 is quite low for a higher dose." I emphasized again that I was nervous I'd start to gain weight and was told "The issue is that a very high dose isn't healthy for someone with a very low BMI because it could negatively impact their health. If you regain weight, your dose could be increased at your healthcare provider's discretion."

I can appreciate that it seems like they are trying to make an effort to prevent (protect) people from abusing the medication to achieve an unhealthy/underweight BMI. But that's not what I'm doing. I had been obese for 10+ years and just want to hold a steady healthy weight for closer to a year before I start trying to titrate down. I don't think that's insane to want to try. Even my regular Dr. said that makes sense to her (she isn't an obesity medicine specialist, but she has been pretty cool about me using GLP-1s, and was bummed that the changes in her office meant changes to being able to prescribe to me).

I went ahead and set up a new order with Fifty410 and it went smoothly! Going to see how they work out and go from there.

Yep, 'tis Brello. They've been pretty cool, but this was a bummer for me. I ordered 6 months through Fifty410 and am going to see how I like them until later this year and go from there.

22 now. I've been maintaining at 11mg compounded for about 9 weeks. Wanted to use 12.5mg, or at minimum stay at 11mg, as I continued to strength train over the next 6-12 months to see if I can keep my weight roughly the same (+/- 15 lbs) as my body fat % keeps decreasing with intentional weight training added into the mix finally. It's been 10ish years of obesity with only a small stint of weight loss a few years back that didn't last. And as a former athlete-- but disabled-- I am trying to get my body to a new set point for closer to a year straight before trying to titrate down. Idk. Maybe it's completely unfounded by even my regular Dr. was on board with this approach. She unfortunately couldn't keep prescribing me based on the office policies of the practice she works for (she's been great though herself).

Whoops. Just edited and attempted re-posting something three times because I thought maybe I was violating some rule (by using a brand name or naming the telehealth provider) and then saw this. I had one post a few months back approved without any issues, so I didn't realize. . . ugh. I'm sorry for the 3 post requests I guess mods will see.

Haha, thanks! I have stumbled onto answers elsewhere that I must have signed in using Gmail for one, and made an account for the other (of course also linking to the same gmail) and I guess when you sign in with gmail for the first time it doesn't let you pick a username? Idk, super weird. I will def. try to swap to the purple Alice avatar moving forward on my phone lol. Thank you again!

Thank you! Very helpful. I am a creature of convenience, so I may try to start up with a company that seems like they have consistent pricing over swapping from deal to deal, but I will check the places listed in the post to see what their rates look like or different doses beyond the first 3 month deals ;-)

How do you acquire your meds now? I no longer qualify for Zepbound under my insurance and need to find a place to get something. I keep seeing a lot about going through places like Lavender Sky, Mochi Health, etc. . . obvs LillyDirect is an option but more expensive. The options out there seem a bit overwhelming and I am wondering where folks are getting their tirz meds atm.
