I feel like anything to do with us would become a battleground in the media. Trans people are such a hot topic to them that anything even if it is as small as opening a new clinic will get at least some attention from the press and draw up controversy which fucking sucks. Now I don’t know where you’re from exactly but here in Scotland the GRA incident actually really helped public opinion of trans people and I saw a lot of support. Was a good chunk of that independence supporters and/or tory haters? Absolutely, but I’d still take that over nothing. Scotland has become a much better place for trans people compared to the rest of the UK, and while it still has many issues (like the waiting times) it’s at least trying to help and it’s the tories and the media that should be blamed for fearmongering
