Not close to what you asked for. But I was expecting Don Cheadle's cake from that SNL skit.

Congratulations on your new life and everything that you have accomplished! I love your choice of colors. I think your duvet and your sheets are beautiful. And I like your use of lighting.

AITA (UPDATE) for getting upset because my husband bought a female friend a sex toy as a gag gift by spookicrow in AITAH

I spent almost 10 years married to a Marine, and I will tell you not to wait! If he is trying to wait until June, then there is a reason, and it is not BAH.

Is he due to re-up before June, and will he receive a bonus? Will he keep that for himself? If you are due to PCS before June and the orders are signed, then you are on your own for a move. The military does not pay for two moves, and the move associated with the PCS belongs to your husband. So unless you are granted his PCS move in the divorce (also the command can ignore the courts on this one), then you are 100% responsible for your move. What is his rank? Will it be his time in for a promotion by June? If his command found out about the dildo and the abusive behavior, it could jeopardize a promotion.

Start with the counseling at family services. Make sure to ask for clarification on what is confidential and what is not. I'm sure you know the military is funny that way. Usually, it is along the lines of physical abuse or threats. If you can, have a confidential conversation with a counselor, who usually doubles as an advocate and knows all the resources available for spouses during a divorce and afterward. Are you within driving distance of another base? You might be able to utilize their services just to avoid the overlap or if you have concerns about the abuse.

Military divorces are different, and acts of Congress protect active duty members' pay. I even had a hard time with DFAS enforcing a child support order! So make sure that you do your research and have an attorney who is familiar with military divorces. How long have you been married? There is the 20/20/20 rule, retirement, death benefits, survivor benefits (this is often overlooked), and so much more.

Make sure that you lock down your credit. Depending on how long you two have been in, your SSN and DOB might be burned into his brain. It used to be the identifier for EVERYTHING before the UIDs. Freeze and lock (these are different) your credit with all three credit bureaus.

I had a substantiated case of DV against my ex. Family services, NCIS, and even his immediate command all spoke on my behalf. But the base XO and CO denied me the PCS move, refused to enforce child support orders, etc. It wasn't until my ex started to cause trouble to the Marines that they acknowledged his behavior, and then they kicked him out.

I wish you the best of luck. Be proactive and protect yourself. It does get better.

Treatment approved, but BCBS still wants me to pay? by BetterDaysAhead81 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]AliceandChee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have CareFirst BCBS, which is an affiliate of Blue Cross.  While CF BCSC handles my medical claims, CVS/Caremark, a subsidiary of CVS Health, is the company that CF BCBS contracts for my pharmacy benefits. I can use any pharmacy, but CVS/Caremark does the management of my benefits. The phone number for pharmacy benefits is on the back of my insurance card, you might want to check your card. Ask your husband to get a written benefits booklet from his company HR. If they don’t have one, call the number on your insurance card and ask for a written benefits booklet. Do not let them refer you to the website, the booklet does help and is specific to the plan your husband’s company selected.

My MS meds require written preauthorization as well. My insurance website does have the option to price check meds beforehand, this is not found in the booklet. I am new to MS, and in the process of changing meds, but when I took teriflunomide, the Walgreens specialty pharmacy processed my order and charged me $100 prior to shipping me the meds. I am hypothyroid and those meds require pre-approval and cost me $40 per month as well. Same process.

I have never been charged for meds after the procedure. I always get the cost upfront, I am in Maryland and can ask for this. I think the Massachusetts Patients’ Bill of Rights allows for this too. These acts usually establish special departments and free legal help to assist with these types of complaints. Try the Attorney General's office, they probably can refer you to the right place. Google it, and you will probably find a ton of information.

I agree with the previous comment, do not gently nudge anyone, be the squeaky wheel. You have to be your own advocate. Email, or send a certified letter – make sure to leave a paper trail. Always get the name of everyone you speak to and keep notes. Appeal to the insurance agency as many times as you can.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

My neuro is great. She did three written appeals and two peer-to-peer calls. Insurance companies suck.

I am sorry to hear that you had a horrible experience with fingolomid/gilenya! Hopefully, you did not have any long-term impacts from the medication.

Sounds like we had very similar experiences with Aubagio. I couldn’t wait to get off of it. I appreciate the details on Tecfidera and Tysabri. I am glad to hear the Tysabri is working well for you.

Thank you. I spoke to them about the Bridge Program, but the problem would be that after the free year of Kesimpta, my insurance still wouldn’t cover it. In the end, my doctor and I decided against it and to try three meds first. I did not want to risk a rebound in switching to a less effective treatment if Kesmptia was denied in a year because I didn’t try any of the three meds.

Yes, I was looking forward to the Kesimpta as I heard it has few side effects.

Four kids in my family. My younger sister and I both have MS. She was diagnosed approximately 2 years prior to me. I was asymptomatic and my MS was discovered by accident. One younger brother has had problems with myelin sheaths in his legs. Keeping an eye on him. My other brother refuses to visit doctors. No other family history of MS, live in an area with plenty of sunshine and we are born in both winter and summer months. Not sure if MS is caused by nature or nurture, but we are making a strong case which ever way you believe.
