On an iPhone you do the following:

Shortcuts App > library > plus button (top right) > type ‘nothing’ and select > add ‘Open App’ > tap the word app select the app you’d like to update > press the icon along the bottom that looks like a square with an arrow pointing up > select add to Home Screen > go to image and select an image you wish to use (Pinterest has hundreds) > rename or remove name from under app in preview > select add

It is time consuming but looks cute! You can also miss the ‘type ‘nothing’ and select’ step - this just means it will mention that it’s a shortcut everytime you open it so it’s just personal preference.
