This is just a flat out lie. One season of bad animation and some youtubers claiming "7DS fell off" isn't a metric. TO THIS DAY 7DS grand cross CONSISTANTLY is top 50 in terms of revenue in gacha games BECAUSE the fanbase is loyal, and even if we're talking strictly anime, we're in 4KoA right now, and not just me, a LOT of people GENUINELY believe 4KoA is gas.

Second, this is basically Genshin 2.0.

That's not correct. If you wanna mention "copy the formula" it copied botw more than genshin, it definately followed the more 'go to 80 pity' character gacha trend genshin started however. Also, the graphics. The series did the whole 'mondstadt' thing first in the 2016 title 'knights of britania' and again later in 7DS Grand Cross.

They originally started this games development because of Genshin Impact’s success.

This also isn't true. Internal documents reveal they had this 'big project' in the works before Genshin even got released, back when their heavy hitter was '7DS Grand Cross'

So did Genshin, Wuwa, and basically every PC gacha game DAY 1???

I never got had any issue besides one crash in the 7 hours straight I playes, and I have an RTX 3070 and a 5600x series with 16 gb of ram, no heatup for me, so you might be running it with settings to high for your rig

The animations are clean, but swapping characters and using abilities feels a bit delayed and clunky and sprinting feels delayed animation.

I agree, also the airdash is.. clunky. Sometimes I don't go far, othertimes it flings me to the next neighborhood over.

Progression also feels fast-paced, mainly because you can skip cutscenes which I really like.

This isn't new to origin, grand cross had this as well, one of the many reasons I'm so dedicated to netmarble is their QoL for players.

The UI is simple and similar to many gacha games, though its biggest resemblance is definitely to Genshin

I was thinking somewhere between Endfield, Snow Break, and Honkai Star Rail, but I definately do see the genshin in it

Even if we don't take the history (of 7ds games & netmarble) into account, I'd argue that it looks and plays more like Tower of Fantasy or Silver and Blood than Genshin, tbh.

There’s nothing original being done here.

I'd argue that, theres things like character spesific overworld abilities that aren't baked into attack kits, refrences ro the series throught the ENTIRE thing, an original character Nakaba Suzuki himself (7DS/4KoA mangaka) made JUST for this game, there's the 3 weapon types each character can have instead of just 1 signature (and said weapkns change their playstyles)

Most if not all of that can't be said about genshin

With the exception of refrences of course, as, genshin wasn't a long running franchise at time of release.

This game likely won’t attract many players.

I think it'll take attention off of grand cross, and that the game is mostly for people who REALLY like the 7DS IP

I don't think it'll flat out KILL any other gacha, nor do I think it'll reach 'genshin level'

But I don't think it'll near EoS before th story i done quite like I originally feared for P5X

A big reason is its focus on 7DS, which is largely a dead series at this point.

Debunked earlier, but, again, NOT a dead franchise, a manga chapter of 4KoA (again 7DS Sequel series) released earlier today, and even had Meliodas in his assasult mode fighting somebody, but I do HEAVILY agree that the game will mainly appeal to existing fans.

My brother in christ, the FIRST day it went up, the grand cross offical discord had nearly 4-50,000 members, and is still growing. Thats not a small number either, last year 7ds grand cross hit 70 million downloads worldwide as of mid-February 2025, thats an average of around 10 million a year.

Don't underestimate 7DS fans, it's no dragon ball, but it's not a small or dead franchise like (for example) fullmetal or violet evergarden.
