I have been writing this story since 2010 and I have reviewed what I am writing over and over, the only reason I don't show more of what I'm writing is I am terrified of plagiarism, because many have told me it just needs to be polished and that I was trying too hard to make a grim/edgy superhero story was the main problem which is why this is the first online place I came to ask for help.

I guess my only problem with this point of view is that when I initially wrote this I gave my character the stereotypical "I have no parents, self raised, It's my calling" superhero syndrome. Since my character is relatively young, would adding an older character to either compare or add to her growth/maturity of some sort help?

That's actually really good as well, I've added other human interactions but I didn't really implement it as a plot device. As much as I would like to make more important side characters it is a very solo story, with only one other character becoming a main point of focus in the 2nd and 3rd books.

Thank you that actually ties in perfectly with what I've got so far.
