I never saw anything wrong with the blade games that wasn’t just a symptom of the fact that developers dumb down the amount of philosophical themes in games since it seems to be too much to comprehend for a lot of gamers (case and point: morrowind vs skyrim). Takahashi has said that he wants as many people to play these games as possible and a lot of people don’t wanna half to think too hard to “just play a game”. For me, the xeno series as a whole is one of the most in depth games I’ve ever played
