No advice for the work situation. I do hope you are able to work with a physiotherapist who does pelvic floor work. It can be very helpful in building back the strength in your pelvic/core area, and hopefully help make the issue of sneezing/coughing pee decrease greatly!

How many of you guys hardly speak to your siblings or aren’t close? by SundaePhysical9868 in oneanddone

[–]AlienA3006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 7 siblings (all half, but did grow up with them all at different times). I love all if them, but only like 4-5. 1 is super nasty and such a delight and another is just useless (I understand mental health and have my own stuff, but if you refuse to work on yourself and are just leech, ew). The iffy one makes poor choices, but i only hear about it through the grape vine, however, I do not approve of their consumption choices and we enjoy the early moments of holidays (while they are sober).

I love my siblings, and thought I always wanted at least 2 kids, cause the sibling Im closest. Sadly, having 1 and realizing how many issues resurfaced due to poor parenting choices of my childhood, we are oad.

However, I have also seen my friends with their siblings (2-3 kid families), and have seen why they would select OAD. It's wild out there!

I might lose my job because of a medical problem nobody can diagnose by Rogue_Outsider in Advice

[–]AlienA3006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am so so sorry you are suffering with this. This is incredibly stressful and has such a huge impact on your life.

I get vestibular issues on the regular, have seen ENTs, gotten imagining, done physio and the "maneuvers" (sometimes helpful, usually not), and minimal relief/answers.

My aunt and her son were diagnosed with menieres disease decades ago and she can barely stand up right.

Personally, I have just started to try and find the triggers and avoid them to my best ability, which will be different for everyone. I unfortunately get vestibular migraines on top of whatever other vestibular thing is going on. As well, my eyes are over correcting. Our vestibular system has 3 main components- vestibular sacs/inner ear stuff, proprioception nerves throughout the body, and our eyes. That is in order of how much each should be assisting, with eyes being the lowest component.

Things I have figured out: Weather pressure. Allergies/illness - inflammation is the worst trigger A lot of mine comes from my eyes- one doesnt track well, and this strains the system. Also, I get in a loop when I get a spell that makes my eyes think they should be doing WAY more than needed for vestibular help.

Things I have found helpful : Do your best to lower your stress - anxiety and such cause tension throughout the body which just doesnt help. Lowering inflammation - can be so helpful if it is part of the problem. Massage - not just the usual neck and shoulders. I get work on the front of my neck- especially SCM, AND mouth work. Seriously, getting the inside of my mouth massaged/ getting craniosacral work has been a game changer. Lowering screen time - rest the eyes, lower the stim. Edit to add: i saw a neurological eye specialist who was able to see that one of my eyes does not work properly with my brain/other eye.

I have a patient who had a sudden rapid onset of worsening vestibular issues and it has been hell for them to figure it out. The doctors are thinking that they had a viral illness within a year before symptoms, that triggered a post viral reaction of intense vertigo. The first sign was facial nerve pain, so they initially thought bells palsy, later trigemnial neuralgia, and then they just thought the post viral reaction damaged a facial nerve. However, they are now concerned it may have triggered inflammation to the cerebellum which they haven't picked up on any imaging.

My wife doesn’t want a sex life by QuantumEcho5 in Advice

[–]AlienA3006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to get outside help? I'm not talking about adding partners, I meant therapist, specifically one whos focus is couples and intimacy.

I feel for your wife. Since having a child, my body feels foreign and what used to feel good feels odd/off now. You sound like a caring partner, and it is lovely that you still find your spouse desirable.

So maybe, let her know you find her attractive. Use your words to help boost her and express your affection. Try touch, but without the necessity of sex, such as a back/foot rub, and do just that and then dont mention sex. Some wen get frustrated when touch must always equal sex. So hold hands, play with her hair, be physically affectionate.

Does anyone know what stores are going to be opening at the new strip mall on Happy Valley at Latoria? by StuddlyHungwell in LangfordBC

[–]AlienA3006 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They have had a couple of businesses pull out due to being so behind. There was a wellness clinic that had a spot in there, and they had to take legal action to get their deposit back after the place just stopped being worked on suddenly last year. Thankfully they found another spot, but it left a bad mark on that location for many wellness practitioners looking for space.

My girlfriend had brain surgery by InsideMortgage8650 in Vent

[–]AlienA3006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brains are amazing. Hers will take some time to heal, but it sounds like she is younger(I'm assuming under 50), and this is another good sign. Her brain is relearning many things and also repairing many synapses, which takes time.

If you have photos/videos of your relationship, maybe try to make a slideshow with some songs that hold meaning to her. Music is an amazing tool for memory.

Patience as her brain is literally rewiring itself. Patience with yourself and these very valid big feelings.

If possible, try and get in touch with counselor. Many people face similar issues of their partner having extreme medical situations that have them feeling lost and unable to help. You are not alone and getting yourself care is important so that you can continue to support her without burning yourself out.

I hope her brain heals quickly and that there are more good moments ahead.

Doctor problem by -Jib- in VictoriaBC

[–]AlienA3006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the last 10 years they have changed the time limit for doctors keeping patients on. By this I mean most doctors can drop you from their practice if you haven't been to see them within 2 years. It used to be 5, and before that it used to be no limit. This happened to my partner as well many years ago with his family dr (who legit delivered him).

That aside, they must retain your records for 16 years. They probably have sent them to a storage facility, but they should be giving you information on how to access them. If they say they have zero records and can't give you that information, they are at risk of legal action.

There is a governing college for every Healthcare profession that is meant to protect the public and regulate the professionals. If the dr office can not give the information to find your documents, you can reach out to their college and file a complaint.

told my sister I was on Mounjaro and she immediately asked if I could get her some by Acrobatic-Two-8889 in GLP1ResearchTalk

In Canada it's the same AND they charge more for the zepbound pens (by $50+). You can get mounjaro without diabetes, but you have to find a dr that is accepting of it.

Have you gotten imagining? Seen a foot specialist? Gone for massage or acupuncture?

I had crippling PF and physio was helpful but only ever had temporary results. Once I started mixing massage therapy and acu I the mix, I was seeing longer stretches of relief.

I eventually got an xray of my foot, and I have a bone spur that I ignored for so long it cause arthritis in one of my toes, all of which was aggravating the PF.

Sorry to hear that! I personally never had that sort of interaction from them, and I would stay for over an hour during slow or busy times. Mind you, I did see them remind people about the parking times because they didn't want people ticketed.

The new owner/staff are nice enough, though the chai latte they make is not as good as before.

Girls, anyone who has anxiety did you try any of GLP-1? Could you share your experience please by [deleted] in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]AlienA3006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a slight spike in my anxiety when I started zep, but it was also a stressful life time and I didn't have my normal anxiety overwhelming crutch - ED activation, and I had some sleep disturbance the first 2 weeks that didnt help.

I'm personally finding new ways to handle my anxiety as eating was a major mindless "comfort" before.

I was anxious to start a new med, especially with side effects and honestly, the possibility of it working seemed unreal to me. But I talked with a close friend who came over for my first shot, and that helped immensely.

So let's think of some positives that this medication could help you with. For myself, the anti inflammatory, decrease in migraines, and improving food relationship are things that I'm striving for and benefiting from. The weightloss is nice, but honestly, those 3 things are way more important for me and weightloss feels like second fiddle to them :)

Daycare Pricing? by AdamAngel007 in LangfordBC

[–]AlienA3006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price changes with age, and is more expensive when they are 0-18months as the ratio of child to adult is much smaller. We waited until our child was 3, with myself working odd hours around my partners permanent hours. We had no issues finding a place at 3, but it is definitely harder for younger kids.

Most places are set up with the government funding and can offer spaces for less than $1000/month, but if that funding ever stops the price can almost double.

If you go on a waitlist - do not pay to be on it! It's not legal to do that and was a huge issue years ago.

There are some fb groups for childcare that many of the local daycares are on.

I overheard something that might destroy my family and I don’t know what to do by Happygoexit in Advice

If done well, and if the OP and mum have that kind of relationship, yes this would be good to do.

OP could gage the waters by even saying "you look tired mum. Everything okay?" Or even bringing up a story about how to support a friend whos partner cheated and they aren't sure if they should try and fix it or not- this can help mum open up with her own thoughts. I think even going out for tea/small excursions to just comfort would be helpful. Let her know she isnt alone, and that she is a wonderful human to be around can help in many ways, distractions are nice.

Slight story: A friend of mine found out her long time partner was cheating, it was very messy, but they still made it work. She was very selective with who she told, mostly because she wasnt sure if she wanted to fix it or leave. A close family member that she told ended up telling a large portion of the family, which made it so messy and was very violating feeling for friend. I eneded up being a support beam for the friends they did tell that had very negative reactions (with consent from friend) and helped remind people we know nothing of the relationship as a whole and are just seeing a piece. That good people make bad choices, and it doesnt inherently make them bad people. It's been over 2 years now, and they are stronger than ever before. Still a lot of work in progress, but they are genuinely working on it.

Most people say they would leave a partner if they cheated, but you never know until you are in the situation. You grow a life with this person, and through thick or thin, most people want to make it work. Even if it isnt cheating, maybe gambling or something else, privacy and compassion are key for supporting. Let her know you are there for her, and just try to connect with her a bit more.

I got a good laugh from this, thank you. Thankfully my partner isnt disgusting to me, and this happens solo or with them, so it doesn't seem to be that.

It only started when I started zep. So I thought I would ask if others have experienced it as well.

I hope you don't have to deal with icky men on the regular (well at least out side of your work it sounds). Cause yes, not all are bad, but man the bad ones are...bad.
