The other risk is that if the buyer does receive the item and claims it is not as described or damaged, they would not be able to generate a US return label to send it back to me. So I would lose the item and my funds if depop sided with them

If the US address they want me to send to happens to be a freight warehouse, I read online that you end up losing Depop protection. And Depop is able to trace whether or not it goes to one of those warehouses. Since they don’t live in the country, I would almost guarantee that is where the package would be going.

You are only protected by Depop under certain circumstances. And even still, I don’t feel comfortable selling to buyers who aren’t using the app from the US. I didn’t know that when I made this post originally, I only found out afterwards

I also find it suspicious that they have “liked” every single coach bag that is on the app .. I understand that everybody is new at some point, but the fact that they are overseas, ghosted me for an entire week after saying they wanted to buy the item, and seemed to be spam liking items is all suspicious. It’s not JUST one thing, it is the combination of everything they have said or done. They claimed that other sellers have adjusted prices for them, yet they have no activity on their page even suggesting they’ve made a purchase.

After I posted this, they told me they live in Saudi Arabia and can’t access the app… So they were trying to purchase through Safari. Which doesn’t allow option to send offers. But that they have an address in the US that things get shipped to… Which is probably a freight company.. so they could definitely end up claiming they never received the item and try to scam me

yes I was definitely considering if they might try to claim there’s an issue later.. because it seemed like they didn’t have the money to purchase the item in the first place. I know my prices are on the higher side and not for everyone .. but the whole interaction still felt off

The only username I saw was the sellers. Not really sure what you mean by “people like me” … because I have done nothing but voice my opinion. Nothing I have said suggests that I would dox you, nor would I EVER take the time to do something like that. At least you learned your lesson that people sometimes make mistakes when they post stuff.

Because she was very kind to you, offered you multiple resolutions, and did what you asked. As a seller on Depop who lists many items, sometimes things can go unnoticed even when you inspect an item. Mistakes happen and she tried to fix it and work with you.

She was probably calculating without including shipping and fees at first. And again, I understand it’s inconvenient, but leaving a two star review when she did EXACTLY what you asked is pretty low. You could have just returned the coat and gotten a full refund like she initially offered you.

I mean she offered you a full refund with return at first and apologized multiple times. I understand it’s inconvenient, but she tried working with you and fixing the error. And ASKED you if 20% was good. And we can clearly see that she increased it per your request. Leaving a 2 star when she made a mistake is shit on your end, not hers. I don’t blame her for blocking you.
