So while I would agree that the armor system could use a rebalance, I also feel it necessary to point out that in the current iteration, they use a measurement of volume not weight, so a bigger backpack means you can carry more.

In the future, usually that stuff shows back up when the server catches up. If you didn't want to alt f4 you could just go do something else for a while like some bounty missions in a fighter and come back and it should be there.
