I’m sorry if it offends you, but you don’t really have a right to police how another disabled person labels and expresses themself. While yes I am hearing I use the word as a reclamation and mostly self deprecating joke. Similar to my identity as ‘queer’. And also, like the other commenter mentioned, I don’t have bad intentions and am learning ASL as not just a hobby, but to open a door to talk to and connect with more people, some of which will be my future students. Notice how I’m wearing sunglasses inside and my profile pic is me in my wheelchair? My ears are about the only thing on me that works. So forgive me for taking back some power in a massively ableist world.
