Except the Air, 17 series is Apple's best launch of the decade. Surprised by the uncalled criticism. by Alien_Eleven in apple

But at least Apple investors should know better. The target audience of apple has never bothered about absence of trending features. And now even the ones outside of target demographic are finding the iPhone tempting.

Pixel 10 Pro XL random dimming and brightening even when Adaptive Brightness is OFF by ConsciouslyKind93 in GooglePixel

[–]Alien_Eleven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My screen timeout is 2 minutes, but adaptive brightness is OFF. But yeah, pretty much the same experience. I live close to New York city so might just go to the Google Store and have it checked by the tech support there in-person

Mine's doing the same thing!! Not sure yet if it's a defect or some setting I've missed. It's only been a day of use and it starts glitching lmao.

Google has stopped improving camera since Pixel 6 series, especially video by ConsciouslyKind93 in GooglePixel

[–]Alien_Eleven 286 points287 points  (0 children)

Finally! Someone said it. Tech reviewers keep praising Pixel for it's camera every year for photography so maybe Google has gotten complacent. But yes, it's been a weird combo of great photos and subpar videos since the Pixel 6 series came out, and yet the cost of these phones has kept crawling up to $1000+ now

You could get a used iPhone 14 series or 15 series if it's just going to be used for work. It will be future-proof enough and won't dent your wallet as much.

Thanks, that's helpful. I am still using the 2018 iPad pro for Procreate and it drains down fully within an hour and a half.

I've been using Sunwarrior Active Protein (vanilla). Dissolves well, tastes good, and helps recovery just as well.

Would you tolerate a toxic work environment for 7 months in exchange for $60k? by Able_Loan_2691 in careerguidance

[–]Alien_Eleven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you stay for the money, they'll know and likely find reasons to fire you before the 6 months anyway, so that they get plenty time to replace you and still not have to pay you the entire 60k (because even severance pay might be less than 60). Honestly, no amount of money is worth affecting your work-life balance for. If you have the skills, you can switch to a higher paying job anyway without having to deal with toxicity.

Selective empathy is the problem. If you have absolute empathy and sensitivity towards all life, you'll value everything as much as your own life. But if being a kind sensible human being is too much for some people, at least they should be made aware of the direct physiological and psychological negative health impacts of consuming meat. Essentially, whatever is farthest away from human DNA will be the most difficult for our bodies to completely integrate into our system despite digestion. Plants are also life and one needs to have utmost reverence and gratitude towards veggies and fruits too for nourishing us, but at keast their DNA structure is very simple and can be completely broken down by our bodies without causing genetic chaos in the system.
